Premium Members Gregory Dillard Posted September 28, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 28, 2012 If anyone has a similar setup or solution please help. I have HD SDI out of my c300 into the AJA KiPro Mini, out of the KiPro Mini onto the top stage in the rear. The issue I'm having and can't figure it out is when recording to the KiPro Mini it records ALL of the information on the screen. I have to turn off the display in order not to record it, plus I have a Marshall Vertical/Horizon Indicator that gets recorded as well. Is there a way to disengage this as I would like to keep it on, but not show up all over my media.
Premium Members Wan Zhong Wei Posted September 30, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 30, 2012 Hi if you turn off the HD onscreen display already nothing should show. The marshall horzion thing is on the monitor output, dont think the kipro mini will record that? i doubt you can be able to see the information on the screen but not on the SDI signal. let me try it tomorrow and get back to you. the other way is to flip the oncamera LCD screen to suit your occasional viewing, in case you need to take a peep at the settings. cheers

If I leave on the HD ONSCREEN DISPLAY, it shows up on the footage on the KiPro Mini, but not the internal cards on the c300.
Premium Members Alan Rencher Posted October 3, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted October 3, 2012 Are you looping the video from your monitor back into the Ki-Pro? If the signal goes from camera, to recorder, to monitor, I would think that it would be impossible to record a horizon generated by the monitor. If the signal goes from camera, to recorder, to monitor, I would think that it would be impossible to record a horizon generated by the monitor. Connection is as follows. HD SDI out of c300 into AJA KiPro Mini. HD SDI out of KI Pro Mini into the top rear stage of the ZEPHYR. On the bottom I am coming out of the sled into the Marshall HD monitor. I have the vertical/horizon adapter going into the monitor. You can enable/disable it from the monitor. None of that information gets recorded to the internal CF Cards on the c300, but its all on the media on the KiPro Mini. I even did a FaceTime session with Dan Ikeda at Tiffen and no luck with him as well.
Premium Members Alan Rencher Posted October 5, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted October 5, 2012 That sounds physically impossible.could you post a video of what's going on, both from the AJA, and maybe a cell phone camera of the whole thing happening?
