Premium Members Erwin Landau Posted February 4, 2004 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 4, 2004 Patience, my friend, Patience... Some people actually have something else to do then to answer posts on this forum... Okay... I have no life... The Vest was made by her Husband, who also designed the Tyler Mount. (If I'm not mistaken...) Liz herself used to be a machinist. Here a picture from "Women in Focus" (April 2001). If you need a bigger picture, e-mail me directly. (Erwin@landaucamera.com). Just realized that there is the 35-3 Lowmode Bracket in the pix... here another version made by herself for her Camera. 2 in one go... not bad... Mitch Gross
I'm sure that vest is very comfortable for her and works great, but it sure reminds me of a costume for a Klingon female on Star Trek. Domanatrix chic, ya know?
guillermo nespolo
looking to that pic ...the question is ..if the only reasons why the vest have regulations are for ...fiting diferents users... why not a mix of the dsv and liz zigler vest all in one...i wonder why the people do not came with that model ...? Mitch Gross
why not a mix of the dsv and liz zigler vest all in one...i wonder why the people do not came with that model ...? Not sure what that would get you. It would be big and beffy on both the front and back. That's a lot of unnecessary weight and constraint. Where would the arm mount? If you read the long thread about front v. back mounted vests, I think you'll see that they have a very different fit to the body for specific functions and reasons. I think it's either one way or the other, otherwise you couldn't move or couldn't breathe.
guillermo nespolo
i was wondering...im not shure about haw much of the torso needs to be free for moving freely..ones u put your vest its imposible to tie your shoes....and wen u are tired the firs thing u do its relax the muscles from your back ...that are the ones that are free to move.....on the dsv u have to tyde the front very hard for the thing to work ok... im new with this steadicam thing ...i just do the soa workshop on october 2003 (i have work since 1991 as a grip) i now that its stupid to ask ...(i di not do it at the soa cause i dont want to look stupid....more stupid i mean ) but somebodie have show a vest to a medic /ortopedic or something like that.....i dont now where i read that womans are more eficient to work with steadicam cause hte have a muscle that helps her during the pragnanci i was wondering not saying just thinking out? ps sorry for my english sucksss as grimmet thinks
Mitch Gross
i dont now where i read that womans are more eficient to work with steadicam cause hte have a muscle that helps her during the pragnanci I would think that a backmount design would be better for a woman because generally they have weaker upper body strength but greater hip bone mass and strength. The backmount design puts all the weight to the hip bone assembly.
Premium Members Erwin Landau Posted February 4, 2004 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 4, 2004 why not a mix of the dsv and liz zigler vest all in one Could be a good idea to try and stay alive, depending on the job... Today, I was supposed to work on a Promo for "50 Cent"... How often was he shot?5, 6 times??? Had to think about the incident with Kurt Jones and him being caught in the rig between crips and bloods when they came up to him waiveing guns... A body enclosing, bullett proof vest, suddenly sounded like a very good idea. The gig got cancelled due to the weather... I guess multi-million dollar Rapers don't like to get there bling-bling wet... especially in LA.
