Premium Members Eric Fletcher S.O.C. Posted October 29, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted October 29, 2012 Hi again, Here's the Steadicam® Model Comparison image and chart I put together. There's two PDFs, one with current models & basic info on them, and the other with (almost) all Cinema Products / Tiffen models and a few more specific details. Please everyone help me fill in the blanks & correct any info, or indeed send me any better pictures! Most of them were found on the web & aren't very good quality or resolution, so if you have a shot of your rig (preferably against white but not necessarily) do send it to john at fryfilm dot com. Meanwhile, hope you find these useful, or at least interesting! John PS. Sorry about the spelling! When I have enough info to complete the detail chart I'll correct it! 2 things. The monitor sizes up to the 3A are wrong and a FYI a fully loaded XCS Ultimate with one dionic HC weighs 19.5 lbs.....
Premium Members John E Fry Posted November 1, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 1, 2012 Well, thank you for pointing that out, but without supplying the correct info I can't update the chart. I haven't included any other rigs than CP/Tiffen yet, although if you all could give enough info about other comparable manufacturers rigs it could be useful, or at least interesting. From Memory the Model 1 had a 2" screen, the model 2 had a 2.25", and the 3/3A had a HUGE for the time 3.5" screen

Samuel Angus Campbell
Wow. I'm a steadicam newbie and I must say, I am impressed with the community here. I think this website will be a big help to me and I will pass it along to friends involved in the industry. Thanks! btw I've posted about this before, but this could be a great thing for indie dslr users. It's not for sale yet, but it may have a place on your site. http://www.grantparrinello.com/indieshot/
