Premium Members John atkinson Posted June 3, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 3, 2013 So what do most folks use as a nice bright monitor you can attach a bolt receiver to and power it all with an Anton bauer batt, hand the whole thing to a director and walk away? ANy particular monitor brands/set ups? post pictures please. I'm looking to buy a bolt and a monitor and put it all together for a C300 job coming up in the next week. Camera will be on the rig for 10 days straight, Kamio ringlight, and probably the canon 16-35 and the 24-70 F2.8 as lenses for the project. Thoughts... Ozzie I use the Small HD AC7 with a Redrock handle set up, AB plate for bionic power. I use Cam Wave CW-1 (same as Arrow) Light!
Premium Members Aaron Medick SOC Posted June 4, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 4, 2013 I've also been using my bolt on a lot of jobs. So far it has performed flawlessly. Friday I did a Car to car shot with the no problem driving around lower manhattan. I have used the bolt with Alexa, epic, Sony f55, f5, f3 canon c300 no issues with any. My handheld director's monitor us a TVlogic 5.6 in a DSLR cage with an AB plate and battery. Is it a Boxx? Well of course not. But I'm very happy with my purchase.

Premium Members Aaron Medick SOC Posted June 25, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 25, 2013 What kind if pictures are you looking for? I put the transmitter on a small Israeli arm. The hand held monitor is a $100 no name Dslr cage with a couple of L brackets from Home Depot. I machined them in my basement to hold an AB gold plate. I bolt the receiver to the top if the Dslr cage with the provided thumb screw. If you want pictures email PM me with you email address. Premium Members Mike Gailing Posted August 2, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 2, 2013 Hey Everyone, Metadata / timecode / fan control firmware for the Bolt Pro SDI is now in open beta. If you are interested in giving it a shot, please send me a message with the serial numbers of your TX and RX. Please note this is still in beta so it will not be 100% perfect. You can reverse the upgrade if you like so this is not a permanent thing. There are a number of releases notes, but I will share those with you when I send the firmware. Hope you guys are as excited about this as I am! Email: Mike@teradek.com

Premium Members Alan Rencher Posted November 13, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 13, 2013 Does the Bolt use Atomos Connect boards to convert HD-SDI to the Amimon board's native HDMI? I ask this because I've heard that you can pass record flags via HDMI if you have SDI Connects on either side. I've also noticed the size and layout of the Bolt could easily house the boards. Just curious.

Premium Members Dustin Heindl Posted November 30, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 30, 2013 I have the Bolt and can report on a couple issues I've had, but overall it's a good unit. Both myself and someone else had a problem with the first model and we had to send them back to have them fix something. The range was absolute garbage to a point it was basically unusable. 20 ft max, and 40ft with very clear LOS After getting it back it does work well. I had one fry on my randomly, and they shipped a replacement out no problem. Now I've been using mine for at least 6 months and I've been very happy. Range is good, maybe SLIGHTLY less than the Paralinx, but it has a way more professional feel with the enclosure and the fact that it's SDI. Note that when using the Alexa you have to go to monitor output and change it to "p" Progressive Randomly a couple times on set in the 6 months it's not had a video signal, I unplugged it all and let it sit for an hour and it worked perfectly, I have no clue why!? I changed cables, power sources etc. No explination, it was only a couple times though, so I can live with that considering it's wireless =) I set up a Smallhd OLED 7" with the AB gold mount back and power the receiver off a P-tap and its a nice compact wireless handheld video for the director/dp!
