RTMotion Systems MK3

that's a bummer! I had good feelings about this system. some technical issues might be forgivable for a new product only if the company takes imediate action to remedy the situation. could you give us details about your issues. exactly which model? and the nature of the problem as well as rtmotions' behavior.

seems like a software problem to me given that their units are also capable of stereo work. i'm guessing your motors somehow linked together in 3d mode. ideally someone from the company should call you and walk you through the handunit's menu but in face of lack of communication and in order to solve your problem you might want to fiddle around the menu yourself. GOOD LUCK!

Hello Sandro,

I’m glad that your unit is now working.

But I should remind you that this is a public forum and this is a topic about a product/manufacturer. If you don’t give us enough information about your problem and how you or the manufacturer solved them, your posts might get easily interpreted in multiple and opposite ways.

We still don’t know;

-the model of your equipment

-the exact nature of your problem

-your communications or communications attempts with the manufacturer.

-how did the problem get solved and by whom.

-how much time did it take to solve your problem.

Wihtout these informations people might get unfair conclusions for you or the manufacturer.

OK!

I bought a FIZ MK3 rtmotion.

since I received the equipment, this never worked right! The three engines worked at the same time using only one control.

I tried several times to contact the company, but never I had a satisfactory answer!

only after I solved the problem by myself, they send a solution.

I solved the problem! It took a few days! but it was solved!

Now my impressions of the equipment.

Very good! rapid response of the motors, no problem with soft lenses! But I have not tested with hard lenses!

And no display to show the zoom scale!

Hi sandro augusto galvão,

Please keep update when you was tested with Hard Lenses result.

Thanks

I 1sted a feature in January in Missuri (i.e. very cold) with some lomo superspeed that needed to be serviced.

I did have some issues with two of the lenses and the motor not being able to drive them (it wouldn't calibrate the whole range), but that being said, we had a bartech with an M-One motor and there were times that it couldn't turn the stiffest lens (I have never had an M-One not drive a lens before).

I will say this: the folks over at RT Motion have the best coustomer service I have ever experienced. The antenna got broken on it and they rushed a loaner unit to me to used for the rest of the feature while mine was in being fixed (for free I might add).

The newest firmware that just came out is fantastic as well. Crazy fast start-up time.

Superspeeds are notorious for binding. Has nothing to do with their "stiffness". A clip on mattebox tightened a little too much can bind a lens. More frequently, I've found that the weight of the MB alone (especially with filters) will put a downward torque on the lens and mount that will bind it up making it impossible for any motor to turn. If you figure out a way to support the lens from below somehow, it should solve the problem.

Sandro, what was the procedure that you used to solve the issue. Was it simply a setting in the menus? Or did you have to update the firmware?

I am interested in the MK3, but I would love to know how to troubleshoot it before putting my money in it.
