detlef villerius
hi, i am thinking about getting a second hand set of teradeks cubes 150 / 350 will they, given the latency, still be suitable for a FP to pull focus at? would it be wise to save up and get te new model 155 /355? many thanks in advance, detlef
Premium Members Daniel Stilling DFF Posted December 9, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 9, 2012 The cube has a latency long enough to make it really challenging, if not impossible, to pull focus from. I'd go with the Bolt or the Paralinx Arrow.
Evrim KAYA
Cube certainly has its uses but pulling focus or iris is not one of them due to latency. Also i don't know if pulling focus from the monitor is the proper way to do it. i personnally like better when the AC use the monitor only as a frame reference and pull focus using his/her eyes/experience/marks. Premium Members Victor Lazaro Posted December 9, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 9, 2012 I have had so many issues with the Cube that I would nor recommend it to anyone. It looks great on the paper, but if you want to use one, set it the Tx coupled with a Airport station in video village and feed it with the Bolt (or any wireless for that matter) no anyone with an iPhone/iPad on set can look at live image, great for costume/make up and save some real-estate around the monitors. Premium Members Richard E Garcia Posted December 13, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 13, 2012 Hey Dan how do you like the bolt so far?
Premium Members Daniel Stilling DFF Posted December 16, 2012 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 16, 2012 Hey Richard! It's good. From my testing performs exactly the same as the Paralinx. Great outside, reduced but enough range inside, through walls. RF can be tough, and these new systems are a breath of fresh air compared to the 1st gen of Wireless HD.
