Honestly, he does help the community. But I guess it was too much for some. I can say that he has never really bothered me. But I usually try to not post on the forum or give him a reason for him to respond to my posts when I do. Even though it would be nice to have someone like that to look up to and talk to, for he speaks his mind and I highly respect that. My previous honest post was to inform the community what I have gone through to be here and the constant attacks and bad mouthing going on for just trying to move up in this industry. Hence trying to "return to civility." I have stayed away from the forum for a long while. Chris' post got me thinking that I wanted to speak out in hopes helping get back what we lost and for others to lighten up because times do change. We can't control the knockoff rigs and smaller cameras being made. But after reading the continued thread, somehow it turned into a covert operation to rid this forum of Eric? Is that because Tiffen was mentioned? I personally would buy PRO and XCS products in a heartbeat. That day will come :) For now my EFP is still pretty badass. Is this forum forever lost? Eric was removed as a moderator, not banned from the forum. He is actually MORE free now to speak his mind and say whatever he wants, if he chooses to do so. Ironically, those words will now be subject to moderation at the hands of others, just like everyone else. I think a steadicam moderator should be able to drink his/her weight in bourbon AND tip the entertainment like a pro. He has the latter down pat but always stopped well-shy of total degenerate lushdom by ceasing drinking before doing something embarassing (like misspelling "lushdom" or being photographed with strippers in his badass Mercedes pimp-mobile). Let's hope that Afton is a closet lushamatic like I know Alec is. Sorry Alec an Eric if I outed you. I do not normally participate in many issues because of this., But I will try to give my opinion, I do not know if I have the right or I am wrong. I would like to congratulate and thank the new moderators but I would also say that the work done so far has been very good. I think if Mr. Garrett Brown, says something, probably he is right but this does not give the reason for all the others. I think if you have a problem with your rig Eric has been and he still is the best option to turn to. In my opinion is very wrong to criticize someone only when others have done it first, especially when many rookies have had problems with some for suppliers and moderators of this forum have been the first people who have come to find some solution, privately or published. I think this should have been solved without much fuss and much less than those who have made terrible mistakes in the past now come out as if they were right, maybe Eric is wrong about something but that does not give the reason everyone. My family taught me that when someone speaks wiser you just have to listen, if you want answers to your questions, look at that person. I do not think our work is worth the same response from someone who has worked recently as another who has spent many years doing. With all my respect.
