I am looking for referrals for a good, experienced Steadicam Operator, with equipment, for a documentary shoot in Egypt or Lebanon, possibly traveling around the region. I will be the DP and we plan to shoot in the first half of 2013. Ideal candidates would speak Arabic and live and work in a nearby Arab country. But also willing to consider others from the region such as Turkey, Israel or Morocco, etc. to find someone with the appropriate experience. Project is a feature documentary about Arab women overcoming oppression. The format will be formal interviews (no Steadicam) with dramatized re-creations, including Steadicam. He did a very similar documentary project last year in several countries in North Africa and he’s a veteran of 20+ years (and also my mentor).
