wider shoes not narrower choice?

the best training is to put the rig on and progressively climb on weight and hours of operation. I'm also thinking about trying some speed rope and I usually bike a bit, but I'm not a big gym fan. I use the Vibram when I operate if the conditions allows it.

I use New Balance Minimus; the "fashion" variant. They're comfortable and light weight, but not good for mud, sand, heavy dirt. I've been using some waterproof trail running shoes for harsher environments, but they're a bit heavy.

I feel that wearing Nike Air Max's are the best, supportive yet not too stiff, and comfortable. Dont see how some people wear boots, plus when youre doing crazy moves it presents a tripping hazard when your wearing big clown boots.

Jeff you might want to include your last name it's a rule, that way you also introduce yourself. Nike Air max's are the best for you. For me I wear shows appropriate to the terrain and the shot and that includes wearing boots when needed.

Do you trip when you wear boots?

I like the lightness of the Nike LunarGlide and have worn those quite a bit. I also have a heavier duty pair of Merrill's that I use now and again that have a bigger grip for rougher terrain. Though last year I found a pair of Nikes that were air max style (but a different name that I've forgotten) that had a wider toe box with a chunkier sole. I think they may have been a special edition for trails and such. I've looked high and low for the same type to replace them, but it looks like they discontinued that style. Anyway, they're by far my favourite style. I used to use the vibram full toe style, but like Janice said they seemed to cause you to use more energy.
