Otto Haring
Is there an altenative for cinevate slider bag/case? It sells for $190USD but I am kind of hesitant to give so much for a slider bag... Are there any alternatives for the slider bag? How do you carry your slider? Thanks! Premium Members Tom Wills Posted February 1, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 1, 2013 Hey Otto, Honestly, you're probably not gonna get a good answer on here about a bag for a prosumer-level slider. I doubt that many of the ops on here have sliders, and those who might, probably have higher-end models than a Cinevate. You'd probably find better answers elsewhere, like on DVXUser or something.
Premium Members John Stout Posted February 1, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 1, 2013 We have a Kessler slider (Philip Bloom 3' version). We got the SKB long gun case to travel it in. Great for checking in with the airline. Everyone always thinks it's a long gun. Case comes with pick and pluck foam so you will need to adjust it to your specific needs. Once we know we like a case layout, we replace the pick and pluck with thick dense foam so the case isn't always shedding pieces. Electric knives work great for cutting foam into round shapes like the slider has. We then packaged all of the automation accessories and the tripod we mount it on sometimes in a second SKB case. Premium Members Alan Rencher Posted February 1, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 1, 2013 Amazon has all kinds of padded bags that will fit something like that: duffle bags, lighting kit bags, tripod bags, etc. Use you imagination. Premium Members Mark Schlicher Posted February 2, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 2, 2013 Alzo Video has a couple of padded bags worth looking into, fairly well-made and inexpensive. Also check out Guitar Center and other online vendors for On-Stage brand padded bags in various sizes.

Premium Members Sanjay Sami Posted June 11, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 11, 2013 I have this slider and it came with a box when I bought it. Considering what sliders cost, I would suggest a hard case to protect it. http://www.chapman-leonard.com/SLIDERS/Slider%20User%20Rev%202%20WEB.pdf
