Premium Members Bryan Fowler Posted February 15, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 15, 2013 Anyone know where I could rent 1, or maybe 2 10" steadiprompt's from here in the south. (or anywhere I guess) I need them for 2nd week of march. I know many folks put an LCD above the lens, but I don't think production would go for it. Moderators Louis Puli SOC Posted February 16, 2013 Moderators Report Share Posted February 16, 2013 Hi Mate If they offer you the ipad unit go with it as I have used it several times and it works really well .
Premium Members Bryan Fowler Posted February 19, 2013 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted February 19, 2013 Thanks Louis, The feed has to come from the truck, and go to two cameras at the same time, so the iPad option is out. (although it would be nice if that would work!) I have a call in to Sharon.
Premium Members JobScholtze Posted February 19, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 19, 2013 To be honest, the mirror sucks. you cant get wide shots anymore so a wideangle is out. Also the glass flares all over on a steadi. Your better of with an 7 inch lcd above your lens. If your a few feet away there is no way you can see there reading above the lens. Test it to see for yourself. Its my only way of carrying a prompter
Premium Members Bryan Fowler Posted February 26, 2013 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted February 26, 2013 Thanks Job for the advice. We're going to chat with production and let them know the advantages of the "over the lens" version. I'd rather do that as well. Is there a monitor that you guys would recommend? I'm guessing having one that has batteries, or could be powered from the sled would be nice?
Premium Members Victor Lazaro Posted February 26, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 26, 2013 I guess any cheap monitor like Ikan can do the trick... they even have this... http://ikancorp.com/productlisting.php?id=

Premium Members Rich Cottrell Posted November 6, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 6, 2014 Bryan, so how did this job end up? Did you get a hold of a steadiprompt? or did you go with the over the lens LCD route? rich
