Premium Members Pascal Combes-Knoke Posted February 19, 2013 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted February 19, 2013 Well I just got out of camera prep and here is a photo, with no lift from my arm hand. Clearly, you can see how close the articulated arm is from snapping!
Premium Members William Demeritt Posted February 19, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 19, 2013 A car doesn't weigh much when you get rid of wheels, seats, hood, and windshield/windows either, but that's no way to drive it. Yes, your Flyer arm isn't snapping, but it's not really flying. Assuming you're not exerting any lift force with your gimbal hand, your Flyer arm's front section looks boomed almost completely down. You'll have a hard time letting the arm do it's work with it overloaded as such, not to mention power cable tether. However, the 2" black gaffe tape securing the Dynawave or the Bartech or whatever to the F65 body is pure magic.
Premium Members Eric Fletcher S.O.C. Posted February 19, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 19, 2013 That build is not complete. Where is the matte box? or don't you care about flares? how about filters? Just becasue you put it on the rig doesn't mean that it's a good idea to fly

Premium Members Victor Lazaro Posted February 19, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 19, 2013 Wow! So you were not joking about this. That's sad. And the producer is ok with that?

I can't decide if the magic is the cables that are just dangling all over the place or the shorts
Premium Members Pascal Combes-Knoke Posted February 19, 2013 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted February 19, 2013 Thanks for the advice everyone. FYI the components were haphazardly thrown on just to test weight, not to function for a shot. Questions answered - looks like ill go Red Epic!
Premium Members Victor Lazaro Posted February 19, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 19, 2013 Way to go bro. Even the epic is borderline for the rig (Zephyr is more in the ballpark). Fly safe (please) Thanks for the advice everyone. FYI the components were haphazardly thrown on just to test weight, not to function for a shot. Premium Members GrantCulwell Posted February 19, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 19, 2013 Glad to hear you were able to work out a more suitable solution to fit the equipment on hand. I think your Flyer will be fine with the Epic. Fly safe.
