Paralinx Arrow HD?

Hey everyone,

I'm just about happy with my Flyer LE (24lb) setup - I just need wireless video tap.

I'm willing to spend as much as the Paralinx arrow...are there any other units I should consider (maybe with different pros and cons) or is the Paralinx the obvious choice?

Thanks,

Pascal

You can also look into the Teradek Bolt. Basically the same thing but SDI with a metal housing, Lemo plugs and an internal battery. Pricier but more of a pro solution.

I still like the arrow as I am looking on using it with an epic on the extra HDMI to a hand held SmallHD monitor.

We have two of the Paralinx Arrow+ 1:2 units and they have been rock solid. There are days they do better through walls than others, but they are pretty robust units.

We use one receiver for a director's monitor when needed.

I shot 3 days last week with the Paralinx feeding the control room with video for a KiPro and it was flawless. The client couldn't get their Camwave to lock up so I pulled out my Paralinx and it worked. In all fairness, I think the Camwave had issues going into the shoot.

The service we have received from the team at Paralinx has been incredible. They gave their word on something, stood by it and made it happen for us. They remind me of Bartech as far as service.

We come off the camera to a BlackMagic SDI to HDMI converter and then the opposite with the receiver if we are converting from HDMI at the receiver.

We do more live events than film type shoots. This plus buying our own wireless comm system has left us wireless and happy in a lot of situations.

Wow Guys - thank you for all the kind words - we really appreciate it.

We are very accessible if you ever have any questions or concerns - please don't hesitate to shoot me an email at Dan@paralinx.net - happy to help in any way.

If anyone is going to NAB this year - please stop by and say Hello - we will be appended to the SmallHD Booth with a small booth section of our own!

Just returned form 10 days in an Italian Boatyard, Talk about METAL!!!!!, Welders, Grinders, Torch cutters, ,10' mountains of scrap metal stacked up in rows, Brass, Steel, Tile, Aluminum roofing strips, you name it...EVEN kitchen sinks!.. The Paralinx Arrow + worked great!. I was never further than 60' from my Director and her Monitor but it never broke up on ship.

The only time it did break up was when I was under the ship in the dry dock. When I crossed to the other side of the supports under the ship the signal broke up and stopped being received all together, but in all fairness here is the description of what was between me and the receiver/monitor....

Blocks of cement 8' wide, by 36" thick, by 4' high, then a 1/2" thick metal frame above them, with an 8' long x 36" thick by 24"high solid block of wood. I don't think anything would transmit thru that.!. The roof was 6' above the concrete floor and was the Underside of the 101,000 Ton 1000'+ long Cruise ship.

Kudos to Paralinx and to Aaron at Hot Rod Camera for the quick service and shipment in a pinch!.
