Premium Members Alan Rencher Posted August 1, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 1, 2013 It could also be that you have over tightened or under tightened the gimbal screws. I found that when I over tightened the screws, the rig would sometimes find a different rest position.
Premium Members Frederic Sturm Posted August 3, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 3, 2013 Hey Alan, thanks =) My question would be, how do I find the right tension? (I did not change the tension yet, because I moved both screws equally)
Premium Members Alan Rencher Posted August 4, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 4, 2013 It's all about finesse. You'll just have to find it.
Premium Members Colin Donahue Posted August 6, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 6, 2013 I have found this topic very helpful as I have noticed that my sled is off balance when I spin it 180 degrees on the pin. I have contacted Tiffen, but if this is something I can fix myself I am willing to give it a try. I have googled "spanner driver #6" but the pictures of the item don't look like anything that would work to take my gimbal apart. I have an original Archer and it looks like I need a giant screwdriver for the screws on the side, and a open ended wrench to unscrew the top. What does a #6 spanner driver look like and where can I get one? Any help is appreciated. Colin Donahue
Premium Members Alan Rencher Posted August 7, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 7, 2013 The spanner tool is for adjusting the Zephyr gimbal. An archer might use a different tool. You might see if the blue whale tool works with it.

Premium Members Victor Lazaro Posted August 8, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 8, 2013 This is what a spanner screw looks like: on the Zephyr, the cover is just a piece of plastic that you can remove with a knife.
Premium Members Frederic Sturm Posted August 13, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 13, 2013 Regarding the tension: Betz Tools advised to tighten it so there is *just* no more play, but the fork is not forced apart (which is what will happen if overtightened). Yes, I had a short moment of shock as well when I noticed the plastic covers, or better, didn't. The two holes were openly visible on the pilot, but here there weren't any. It took a moment for me to notice that its just plastic covers on top.
