Premium Members Alan Rencher Posted February 28, 2013 Premium Members Report Posted February 28, 2013 I thought I would share this solution with anyone whom might be interested. I made this coupling plate to hang my Hyperdeck Shuttle 2 from my secondary battery plate on my Zephyr. Since I usually fly a battery on Epic bodies, I do not need the extra power provided by the plate, but I do need the added weight. My solution was this little guy: Quote
Premium Members Victor Lazaro Posted March 1, 2013 Premium Members Report Posted March 1, 2013 Nice. I just Velcro+bongo ties it in place of the secondary battery (don't have the extra batt plate). Quote
Premium Members John Perry SOC Posted May 7, 2013 Premium Members Report Posted May 7, 2013 Very nice Alan! Did you make any extra ones? Quote
Premium Members Alan Rencher Posted May 7, 2013 Author Premium Members Report Posted May 7, 2013 I was thinking about machining some. I might do a small run if you're interested. Quote

Premium Members Alan Rencher Posted May 9, 2013 Author Premium Members Report Posted May 9, 2013 Thanks! I think I will make them with some cheese, threaded holes for the ability to attach a battery plate, holes for an ET V-mount and WC A-Mount. I will keep it the same size. Quote
Premium Members John Perry SOC Posted May 9, 2013 Premium Members Report Posted May 9, 2013 ...and maybe add some tapped 1/4-20 holes like this plate: http://www.steadicamforum.com/index.php?showtopic=18103 and it would be a very multi-functional accessory Quote
Premium Members James Baldanza SOC Posted May 9, 2013 Premium Members Report Posted May 9, 2013 I'll take one. Quote

Premium Members Alan Rencher Posted June 11, 2013 Author Premium Members Report Posted June 11, 2013 I have an update on this: I've got the drawings done, and I have a guy building a solidworks file. It will be compatible with RED V-Mount, IDX, & A/B Plates; RED and Element Technica V-Wedge adapters, RED & Wooden Camera A-Mount adapters, 9mm spaced 1/4-20 accessories (standard RED spacing). It will also have 1" on-center 10-32 tapped holes (Berkey System AKS), and some 3/8-16 tapped holes. It will come with six custom designed Anton/Bauer posts that will screw into the plate. You will have the ability to screw two plates together, clamping accessories in between. This will be good for converters like the Blackmagic Mini Converters that don't have mounting points. I'm also in the process of designing accessories that will be able to be clamped in between two plates; like a power distro. 2 Quote
Premium Members Alan Rencher Posted January 17, 2014 Author Premium Members Report Posted January 17, 2014 I haven't had a whole lot of time to pursue this project, but I've gotten back on it. I just got a prototype version of what I'm calling the, "Intersex Plate." The idea of this is basically an anything-to-anything plate. Here's the 3D printed version with Anton/Bauer studs attached; they can be mirrored on each side, or rotated 180°. I'll have more pictures as I go on this. 1 Quote
