Hi,

I wish to solder a power cable from D-tap to MDR. I have found the Lemo pins specs in Preston Manual but size is not indicated. I have working a lot of times with preston units but I can’t remember what size the Lemo 304 connector is? 0B or 1B.

I guess 0B, but I’m not sure, could somebody confirm?

Thanks,

David

I may be wrong, just going off old fuzzy conversations on these, but I seem to remember that the earlier model did not have the torque settings, while the later did. Can someone with an early model verify? Also, you can not upgrade the MDR1 to work with the HU3, while you can with the MDR-2.. thats why there are so many

HU-2s for sale for next to nothing.

If someone does call PCS, please post the info here.

In brief, MDR-1s did have torque settings and will not work with HU-2s. The second generation (HU-2) hand unit will not work with a MDR-1 unless it (HU-2) has been "dumbed down" to the older MDR-1 standards. Yes, the MDR-2 can be made compatible with the HU-3 by swapping a board out from the old standard (G-3) and replacing with the G-4 board which deals with frequency choices made by the system in the 2.4Ghz bandwidth. Both -1 and -2 systems can do superb work in many situations and were state of the art for many years. Cost drops do not equal a lack of functionality or serviceability.
