Premium Members RobVanGelder Posted May 18, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 18, 2005 You´re not alone in this..... But at least I feel very happy! Can´t buy that with money. :)
Premium Members RonBaldwin Posted May 21, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 21, 2005 you guys are right, happiness can't be bought. But, renting a plane, hot-rodding an Audi or buying a motorcycle or used Hummer is fun (and probably not as costly as one thinks). When you spend 65 to 70 hrs a week, 7 to 9 months a year on set getting beat-up you need to get away -- and these are just the vehicles/hobbies to get you as far away as possible. Premium Members Markus Rave Posted May 25, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 25, 2005 Before earning there comes blood sweat and tears. You buy the rig for more than you would spend on a Hummer. You often go to your limits. You risk your health and your friends regarding the time you spend on set. And maybe you are lucky and get the good jobs. Maybe you are not. Compared to that the Hummer is a nothing. But it is fun, isn´t it? Premium Members RonBaldwin Posted May 26, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 26, 2005 it is indeed fun -- and you're right, spending $50k on a work truck/weekend trail bomber is a small fraction of the time, effort, frustration, and $$ that I spent over the past 10 years aquiring the correct gear/contacts/skills. now, if only some of these guys here in LA will come play with me! Premium Members RonBaldwin Posted May 26, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 26, 2005 I was referring to Eric Fletcher's Audi (S-4?). Look under the A/R demo at BJ's thread - I think the meeting was 4/30/05.
