Well thank God we have another person on the forum to get on the case of others for not using search. Evrim, I remember you to be a pretty cool guy - you don't have to be an ass to people. An increasing number of your posts have this sort of tone to them. There are already enough filling that role on the forum (some for good reason).

I don’t think my post was offensive. I always try to be active and helpful to legitimate newbie questions so we wouldn’t take veterans time for basic stuff –I think Janice suggested this behavior, I might be wrong-. And let’s be honest; how hard is it to type the name of the person you want to contact and click search?

 

I really think that I helped Alexandre. I might have not replied the question and then what? Either he would get a real offensive reply or no answer at all -like Christopher’s post that I pointed in the pic 99 views/0 replies- .At least, now he has the contact info and a reminder about the search function. I didn’t call him names. I admit being a little bit on the cocky side but certainly not an ass.

 

When I started using the forum; I used to post before fact checking or reading my posts a second time. As a result veteran people did put me in my place by calling me on it –and in a style much harsher than mine-. I laughed at myself, I apologiesed and I learned to respect this forum even more.

 

I think people can/should take a little constructive criticism in form of jokes if it doesn’t contain any personal attack. I certainly can. And I certainly prefer being the object of a joke without an insult rather than an insult or personal attack.

 

You didn’t convince me yet but I am open to suggestions, as always. If a number of active members or moderators or veterans also thinks I’m out of the line in this topic or others; Then, I will apologise –damn! This word is hard to spell! - laugh at myself and be more careful.

Jens, well put. Jameson, I have no problem with Evrim's response. A bit sarcastic perhaps, but certainly not over the top (and he didn't call anyone an "ass").

That Job is a mobile phone bug. It seems to repeat the post if you tap it twice (now I see how it happens to others). Went to erase it but the phone interface was too slow and then I had to get back to work (trials and tribulations of being a working op and a moderator). I see Afton removed my redundant words though. Onward.
