Premium Members Alan Rencher Posted November 7, 2013 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted November 7, 2013 I got to take a look at a finished Tomahawk transmitter today. It looks pretty sexy. It might actually be slightly smaller than a Bolt transmitter. Keeping with what was mentioned earlier, They will be releasing both HDMI and HD-SDI transmitters, but the HD-SDI version will come in a few months. The receiver will have two HD-SDI outputs on it from day one. Both the receiver and transmitter will have Lemo power inputs (7-17V). I didn't see a loop-through on the HDMI transmitter I saw, but I'm not sure if that will be the case with the HD-SDI version.
Premium Members Alan Rencher Posted November 24, 2013 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted November 24, 2013 I went to the Tomahawk demo today, and Dan was able to show the system working at 2,600 feet! It was pretty incredible.
Andrew Stone
Alan, do you have a sense of the unit's weight?
Premium Members William Demeritt Posted November 24, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 24, 2013 PRICE???
Premium Members Alan Rencher Posted November 24, 2013 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted November 24, 2013 Weight: TX - 6 ounces (170 grams), RX 16 ounces (454 grams) Those weights are without antennas. Price is set at $10,000. It's a bit pricey for me, but it's a good contender to the Boxx Meridian at half the cost.

Premium Members Alan Rencher Posted November 24, 2013 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted November 24, 2013 Trolls be trolling. I'm not going to engage past these observations I've made: So that one is $2,000 less than the price that was announced for the Tomahawk. That one has a thin plastic case with no mounting options. It doesn't use Lemo connectors. Do you know anything about their support? Do they have local service? I'm sure if Paralinx could make it cheaper without compromising, they would. The Tomahawk has a machined aluminum casing with mounting points; not to mention that Paralinx is working on several accessories, power options, etc.

Bottom line is that the Tomahawk is a $10Large HDMI transmitter..... sorry I don't use professional cameras that use HDMI.....
