Premium Members Thomas English Posted June 5, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 5, 2013 Whats better in a side by side test? Panalinx or a IDX CW7 Does the larger Amion chipset and bigger antenna array make a difference? Which Amion Chipset will the Tomohawk have? The new new one? Will there be options to put larger receiver antennas onto it?
Premium Members Alan Rencher Posted June 5, 2013 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted June 5, 2013 The Tomahawk, as far as I know, will ship with high gain antennae on the receiver, and you could replace them with other antennas. As far as the Camwave, they don't have powering options, protective casings, or any accessories that I know of. The Paralinx modules are great, and their service is great.
Premium Members Thomas English Posted June 5, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 5, 2013 powering options, protective casings, or any accessories that I know of? What does that mean? What accessories? Powering options is a 4pin XLR. Protective casings.... ? huh? I understand you think that paralinx modules and the service is great. Will the Tomohawk have the larger or smaller chipset and will it be the newer version recently released. Does anyone know what advatages the larger chipset has over the USB stick chipset. Premium Members Alan Rencher Posted June 5, 2013 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted June 5, 2013 IDX doesn't have any way to regulate power input from p- tap, and they don't have anything like the shield.
Premium Members Brian Freesh Posted June 5, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 5, 2013 I think you two are talking about different IDX products. Thomas asked about the CW-7, Alan is discussing the CW-
Premium Members Alan Rencher Posted June 6, 2013 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted June 6, 2013 That would explain the confusion! I Helldiver that the CW-7 older generation Amimon chips.
Premium Members Thomas English Posted June 6, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 6, 2013 The CW-7 is the new generation of Chipset. Helldiver isn't a word.
Premium Members Alan Rencher Posted June 6, 2013 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted June 6, 2013 But I am pleased that autocorrect created Helldiver. Why don't you lighten up?
Premium Members Victor Lazaro Posted June 6, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 6, 2013 Two products that do the same thing can perfectly coexist. One is small, and needs an adapter to get all the options, great for modularity, the other one is a shape that is known to the user and has been around for a while (the shape) as for the chipsets, we will see when the two products can be physically compared, when they are both out. Leith Painter
Does anybody know about product update on the Paralink Arrow<->Tomahawk specs, price and availability ? Last I read was summer and saw a beta version video in April 2013. If it can be attached to receiver and provide an extra 1200ft LOS range based I what heard and read then I would see that as a big product differentiation vs Bolt, vs CW-1 and I would be ordering one right away..

Premium Members Alan Rencher Posted July 27, 2013 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted July 27, 2013 What about Nebtek microlite???and Antón Bauer transmitter??; All the best and Thacker for your info. Those systems compress the signal, which causes a delay. That's not a bad deal if your clients are out of sight, but if you've ever used a Cube for short distances, you know the headaches.
