Hey Nikk,

I just had one built, and I couldn't be happier with the results. It also strips down and fits into the trailer hitch on my truck. Here's a link, just go to "Production stills" and scroll down a bit. If you like this approach I could send you links to some of the parts. I had tremendous help from folks on this forum, especially David Allen Grove. Good luck, they are lots of fun.

hello, I too am in the beginning process of starting to build a rickshaw and wondered if you guys could help me with something. Im from England and was wondering if anyone knew where I could get some speed rail from? I've started looking but struggerrling to find it over here, perhaps its called something different?

Matias, I couldn't work out how you move your center post from the center to the side..?

and finally I noticed your wheels are at the back of your rickshaw, is there a reason for this? because I wondered if they should be in the center, but wasn't sure and was looking for any advice on the matter..? re the center of balance?

thanks

The main reason why I move the wheels to the back is that my grips at that time didn't have much experience with the Rickjaw and since it was a fast moving shot, I didn't feel very comfortable with the fact of them going loose on the handle amd me going face first into the ground. So here the wheels are behind the CG. As far as Speedrail, there is a company in London that specialices in theter productions that carry speedral. I cant remember the name but do some research arround this. As far as the post thing, I don't get your question. Can you explain it again.

thanks for replying, what I wanted to know basically is it worth while having a center post that you can move sideways physically on the rickshaw, (either left or right) so you could have the camera in close to one on the wheels when you were in low mode, as opposed to having the post in the middle and having to stretch out with the arm to clear the rickshaw because of the length of the camera. I hope that makes sense!

It does make sense, I did it when I design it but I never used it, I allways place the centercolumn in the middle, it was just an option to have. On the other hand if you want to attach a Hihat or any other camera supporting device, you have several mounting patterns. Just an option.

Best to all.

I created a small website that has photos or links to Operator's Rickshaws.

If you have a Rickshaw and would like to link it to my website just email me. Or if you have photos I can post them.

It's interesting to see the different styles.

Check it out.

I know of an operator here in California that has ben working on being able to fly his rig from his Segway. It has never sounded that good to me. Can anyone picture what it must look like, and if it would work well? I have never seen his setup???
