Hi all,

 

Just want to share this with you:

I bought and paid up front an EBX, before the whole story started here on the forum. I got me a bit worried, I might say, since delivery seemed to take a little longer than expected... :o Anyhow, yesterday, about two weeks after the initially promised date, I got an email, saying my unit was ready for Fedex to pick up, with a tracking#. And this morning Fedex was at my doorstep with the EBX.

 

I can only say that mr. Fisher was always very quick at answering questions and making quotes, but maybe he should make more realistic estimates about delivering the goods. I'd rather know up front that I have to wait, say 2 months, than being told delivery will be in two weeks and then have to be nervous for six more...

I think it's time to step forward with my story. You al know that i use the Benz 500 focus / Iris. I am happy with it, it works great. It took some time, ( even a visit to england ) but it's al there. So far so good. Always a fast reply on my questions, and i think i did a lot for Ben too. Helped him with costumers, and always ready to give somebody a demo. He sold also a few of his so called new digital system. One costumer bought one and payed for it, so Ben provided the Benz 5000 in the meantime. He even flew over to bring it. Another costumer here in the Netherlands was in tressed as well. Also because of my experience and from the other costumer. That was 2 month ago, since that, his website is down, his phone don't work anymore, and he moved. He is lying his teeth out every time i have contact with him. ( last one 2 weeks ago ) Keeps saying yes i do deliver tomorrow, but that is 2 weeks ago. I have spoken with other ops and there are a few how have paid in full but never received stuff. I am really pissed, after my effort to him. ( He even had dinner with me and my wife ).

 

He still owns me a RIB and 2 compagny's systems here in the Netherlands. My advice to you all right now is, don't do business with this guy. I'll keep you updated how things work out.

 

And now i am stuck with a system that works great, but when it fails i can trow it away.

Hi all,

 

First I thank Yuri Kawana for opening of this theme. I too have a Ben Fisher story.

This story is very long: there was a many letters, many phone calls and visits of my friends to office Unitcine. For brevity I shall tell only facts in issue. If you interests in full correspondence with company Unitcine (167 pages) I am ready to send you this document.

On March, 7th, 2004 I have written Unitcine, that I wish to buy BENZ 4000 (control Focus, Iris, Zoom). During the further correspondence the list of the equipment has been coordinated.

On March, 22nd, 2004 I have received QUOTE from Ben Fisher.

On April, 14th, 2004 I have received INVOICE on BENZ 4000 (control Focus, Iris, Zoom) without motors from Ben Fisher.

On April, 28th, 2004 I have completely paid BENZ 4000.

On May, 5th, 2004 Ben Fisher has confirmed reception of money.

On May, 10th, 2004 Ben Fisher informs me, that has started manufacture of my order and specifies serial numbers of devices.

On June, 21st, 2004 I receive INVOICE on accessories to BENZ 4000.

On October, 15th, 2004 I have completely paid accessories to BENZ 4000 which I have not received by that moment.

On October, 26th, 2004 Ben Fisher has confirmed reception of money.

November, 10th, 2004. Since this day I constantly write letters Ben Fisher, which general sense "How is my order? When you will send me BENZ 4000?". Constantly I receive answers "this week" and "ASAP".

On February, 3rd, 2005 Ben Fisher sends commercial invoice ¹ 2135 also asks it to check up. In this list was not BOA - LOCK kit and one cable which I have paid earlier. I have written about it.

On February, 10th, 2005 Ben Fisher informs, that has sent my order.

On February, 27th, 2005 I receive a box, in which BENZ 5000 motor controller/driver (control Focus, Iris), handset only for Focus and a part of accessories. In a box laid forged invoice ¹ 2035 where other equipment and other cost was specified. Later, having investigated BENZ 5000 motor controller/driver, I have learned, that the socket for connection of motor Iris is not involved, that is it BENZ 5000 motor controller/driver only Focus.

On February, 28th, 2005 I write, that have not received the BENZ 4000 but if I shall receive it I guarantee payment BENZ 5000. I receive the answer: " We encountered further problems with your 4300/5800 that we could not explain - so I sent you a 5100/5600 to keep you going - we have now traced the compatibility issue between the 4300/5800 and will send out the remaining cable and units in the next week or so - much before March 18! "

On March, 4th, 2005 Ben Fisher suggests to send instead of BENZ 4000 BENZ DIGITAL. I agree.

On March, 9th, 2005 I apologize before company HEDEN as has not paid sent INVOICE on motors of that till now at me was not present BENZ 4000. I receive the answer:

" Dear Evgeniy,

 

Iam so sorry to hear about your problems with Unitcine Ltd and Ben Fisher. Unfortunately this

has been our worst experience with a company during our 41 years of existens. I could not believe in my wildest

dreams how this humble guy Ben Fisher has totally destroyed everything he tried to build up.

You are not the only who has paid in advance and haven´t recieved what ordered. Shame on Ben Fisher!!

 

We have ended production of our own control units and we are know only concentrating in supplying digital

and analog motors for professional Film & HD lenses.

 

I would recommend you to take a look at the C-Motion Lens Control system at www.cmotion.at. This is by

far the best lens control system available today (in my opinion)

 

If you are looking for a cheaper system the Chrosziel Mag-Fox is an excellent system. www.anthrazit-design.com

 

Also you can have a look at www.mk-v.com they are coming out with an all new system supporting

our analog motors with digital control.

On March, 22nd, 2005 Ben Fisher suggests to buy BENZ digital motors.

On April, 24th, 2005 my friend has left in UK. He with the English lawyer visited office Unitcine, but Ben Fisher disappeared. After a while he have found also he has given the promise to send full BENZ 4000 till May, 30th.

TILL NOW I have not received PAID BENZ 4000. All documents and correspondence at me are collected in one folder, that completely confirms fault Ben Fisher. Now we negotiate with the English lawyer for the reference in police and criminal prosecution of the swindler.

I try to get him on the phone for several day's but no response. A company in the Netherlands bought a unit and payed in full. There is still no delivery. I hope it will be solved but i fear that there is something terribly wrong.

 

_ edit_ i spoke with him on the phone today and he say'd it wil be solved this week.

I bought a Benz system from Heden 6 months ago, and I they asked me a few later to send it to Unitcine for checking up. Ben Fisher got it, checked it and emailed me everything ok for return. The problem is I'm still waiting for it for 2 months and a lot of job losts. I'm becoming furious. I know some of you had problems with him, I hope he will read this message quickly. Fortunately I kept all the email we exchanged. If I still don't have back my system before two weeks, I will contact each of you to sue Ben Fisher in a large and international lawsuite with the help of Heden.

Hello all,

I recently purchased A FBX from Ben. I explained to him my concern because of the bad wrap the company has been getting with undelivered items. He told me he had it in stock and would ship it immediatly. I told him I would release the funds when it arrived because of all the bad situations I have had in this last year. He happily agreed. Three days later it showed up. This has been one of the best situations with dealing with far and away companies I have had to date.

 

My history with progear has been nothing but pain and agony. I purchased a vest from them. They shipped it express post. It took 7 weeks, they told me it would take 2.They decided to ship it in two boxes. One went missing never to be seen again. Re-shipped- another month and still missing a piece. Still waiting(2weeks). All along I tried to explain a small shipping company called FEDEX is the shipper of choice.

 

I think sharing these stories is very important for our community. It is not to bash any company because sometimes there are single situations that go wrong in buisness, and that is buisness. If I can help a fellow operator not fall into frustrating situations, I will.

 

I have more frustraing stories to share but in due time.

Hi all,

 

Since my last posting, I haven't heard anything from Ben Fisher, no refund no nothing. I was not aware of his move, so I had to get his new address from somebody else. I Believe I am still his customer and I think it's his responsiblity to tell us all when and where he will be moving to.

 

I am now in the process of a claim thought the court. He hasn't replied to this either. Well the claim can go ahead without him so in my opinion, I'm not bothered about him ignoring.

 

My experience with this has been nothing but waste of time and money (my money, Ben) .

 

In April, I was told refund will take 3 weeks. Well it's now morethan 3months. I'm wondering if he ever will send me a refund.

 

After everything is setteled down, I hope not to see him or his product ever again.

I had no contact to Ben Fisher.

 

I till now have not received that equipment which has paid.

 

I did not undertake while any actions as has been very borrowed by work.

 

It is necessary to tell, that Benz works very well. It is insulting, as Ben Fisher's behaviour does not allow to conduct the further cooperation.

Hi All

It appears Fisher has "done a runner" with your money and our products.

He may have a new company name - BENZ ENGINEERING LIMITED

although this will probably change in a few months, UNIT, IOPHON etc etc.
