Premium Members Erwin Landau Posted September 28, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 28, 2005 Sorry guys... but what can I say... though luck. Why are we having this discussion again? Many people got burned in the past and have warned and posted including me about that man and the company. But still people blow it in the wind and run out to save a couple of bucks to get royally screwed... Benz... it's easier to calibrate then the BFD and its way cheaper then the Preston. I haven't heared one single valuble complaint against Jim or Howard, I owned or own there product and have only the best to say about them, there product and Costumer service. I gladly pay a little more with the convienience to drive down to the company and wait while my unit get's repaired. Just was there today (Yesterday... I don't know I work nights since forever) to get my software in my MDR upgraded and got the brand new high gain antenna installed because I was there... for freeeeee. Save a penny to loss a dime... Sorry guys, but how often does one have to warn you? I hope you get your money back and next time go with something/someone that has a good reputation... check before you send out your hard earned cash to some low life... Sorry had to be said... Sincerely, Erwin
Premium Members JobScholtze Posted September 29, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 29, 2005 Well, Erwin At that time it was not a dollar question. And, sorry to say, it was more expensive than the bfd. The reason was the auto calibrate and being the company in Europe. Easier for software updates and service. Ben is an ass being a business guy, but the remote works just great. Using 7 disc's and 7 lenses, you just wright them down one's and your good for weeks. Just put the calibration knob and your ready to go. THAT was my choice at the time my friend. Thankfully the problem i had was not with the Benz but with the motor. Heden took care of it yesterday. Magnus, thanks for the fantastic fast support. So, product is great, support really sucks. Must say that Ben responded on my email and is claiming to give support of however needs it. Just afraid never to receive my unit back. If i had to make a choice right now, than i would go for the BFD.
CKP
Erwin, Thanks for your comments.(Tough luck) Some of us are owed money for goods supplied and not paid for. Hardly our fault. I hope you never get ripped off.
Premium Members Erwin Landau Posted September 29, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 29, 2005 >>I hope you never get ripped off.<< I did and that's why I'm posting here... The product can be as good as it wants... as long as you are not getting a decent Costumer Service... it's not worth a penny. That's why I went with Greg Bubb, Preston, PRO, Bartech, etc. As I said I hope you get your money/unit back... just be more careful to whom you send your money to... next time. What more can I say as stay away from this guy...
Gustavo Triviño
Hi guys: I´d like to know how finished all this problems with Ben Fisher. Chris? Yury? Evgeniy? Tim? Job´s Friends? We are all in the same position... Best to all, Gustavo.
Gustavo Triviño
Hi Tim: Nothing has changed to me too. Almost 2 years waiting the equipment... You are "lucky" to be in UK. I live in Buenos Aires and I can´t go to visit him. I would resolve my problem without go to Legal way, but I think there is no chance. If you will begin a legal demand, please let me in with you. I talked with Yuri and I think he will be in the same way. Best, Gustavo.
Premium Members BJMcDonnell SOC Posted November 4, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted November 4, 2005 Well my FBX box just took a crud! I guess there is no reason to send it back since I will never get it back. This sucks! It worked really well. I am afraid to even send it back. I guess I can make it a refrigerator magnet or a chinese throwing star. BUMMER. BJ McDonnell

( After a week ) I needed some extra discs and he said he wil send them. ( Lets wait and see ) So if its broken, try it, email him. Why not, its broken anyway. ( And when i ask him about the units he still needs to deliver, i get , of course , NO ANSWER

No reason at all to send this in as no reports have shown him to be reliable, even your own post states that he hasn't sent you the discs. Better off taking it to a third party who may have some idea of how it works. Anyhow sorry for your loss BJ hopefully you can find a way to get it repaired. It was a stupid idea. Mule, and hitting rocks for the third time? But its difficult to repair i guess. Its all chips in there. You need the program to flash it again. Guess how has that program, not me. I have the same, just waiting something to brake down.
Daniel Raquet
hi, this is my first post in this forum. We've bought a Benz 5000 and now we are looking for a actual user manual. We have several problems with the Focus puller of the Benz. Iris and zoom are working perfect, but the focus is doing strange. IF you turn the knob to one site the motor starts moving but doesn't stop when you stop the knob. it runs to the end. same problem if you turn to the other site. Looks like the signals the motor gets from the benz are not in a curve. I think it only gets full signal or zero signal. We have software version 1.0. is there a newer software yet, or is this stil the actual? Does anybody of you had the same problems, and if yes, how could you solve it? Does anybody has the actual e-mail adress of Mr Ben Fisher, because the unitcine.com and iophon.com aren't working anymore. I hope some of you could help me! Thanks Daniel
Mitch Gross
Looking at the earlier posts on this thread, you may be out of luck. But you could try contacting Abel Cine Tech (abelcine.com) as they were a US distributor for awhile. Ask to speak to Gervin in service--he might have an answer for you. Good luck. Premium Members christophe soffietti Posted April 3, 2007 Premium Members Report Share Posted April 3, 2007 Hi Job, I read a lot of things about the ben Fiischer storry, and it make me thinking I had a lot of chance. because after a couple of month I bought and used it, I got some techn problems. I sent it to him and he kept it through him for more than 6 months, without any news. I finally manage to talk with him, 1 email, 1 call, and He said I'll ship it to you tomorrow to France. 2 days later I received it... No more comment about miracle. I still work with it, but I'm not verry happy. I always have some short radio cuts between sender/receiver, and I sometimes have a big time on switching on the system (from 5 to 60 seconds for waking up) And 3, I use it with 2 Heden M28VP, and the system is not really precise. If I turn the focus ring one way untill the end, and go back to the same mark on the handset, when I check the lens mark, there is a bit difference about 2 to 4 mm. It should be unavailable depending on the configuration and the shhoting ... Do you have those kind of problems, and would you know how/where to service it ? Thanks. Chris from Marseille south of France.
