Premium Members Kyle Fasanella Posted June 1, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 1, 2013 Looking to get a monitor setup that can tilt/swivel and can use Zacuto 15mm rods for extension out. Love the idea of being able to use my rod collection to extended my monitor as far out or in as my heart desires. I am using a pro 1.5" center post. What kinda options for retailers am I looking at for tilt/swivel monitor setup? Also the center post to rods to monitor attachment? All your help and direction is much appreciated. Premium Members Aaron Medick SOC Posted June 1, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 1, 2013 I'd check sachtler's monitor bracket. I believe they told me it was 15mm at a trade show a few years back. I know the XCS isn't 15mm because I use it. I have never used the sachtler bracket. I looked it up but could not confirm my possible recollection. It's a start. If not buy the XCS 1.5 clamp and visit you friendly neighborhood machinist. Premium Members chris bangma Posted June 1, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 1, 2013 You could use the Cinetronic telescoping arm, then use any pro / xcs compatible monitor yoke.
Premium Members Kyle Fasanella Posted June 1, 2013 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted June 1, 2013 Looks like Sachtler makes what I am looking for. If those are indeed 15mm rods. and I can replace them.. When looking for a monitor Yoke what do you guys look for?
Premium Members Eric Fletcher S.O.C. Posted June 1, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 1, 2013 When looking for a monitor Yoke what do you guys look for? All I care about the monitor bracket is that it is stiff, liteweight, and puts the monitor low. Once I build the rig I never move my monitor unless its to flip it for low mode

If those are indeed 15mm rods. and I can replace them.. When looking for a monitor Yoke what do you guys look for? I've got the Sachtler tilting monitor arm on my PRO sled, worked out great for me so far. I don't have digital calipers so I can't measure, but I've got a feeling they are 15mm. When I stop by the Sachtler booth at CineGear today, I'll ask if anyone can confirm.
Premium Members Brian Freesh Posted June 1, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 1, 2013 You could throw your motor on to see if it fits with a 15mm insert... :P
Premium Members RonBaldwin Posted June 1, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 1, 2013 the sachtler is not 15mm...it's smaller
Premium Members chris bangma Posted June 1, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 1, 2013 The cinetronic is 15mm, and at $495, is probably the cheapest solution you will find too.
Premium Members William Demeritt Posted June 1, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 1, 2013 the sachtler is not 15mm...it's smaller What it lacks in girth, it makes up for in vibration. ...
Premium Members RonBaldwin Posted June 1, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 1, 2013 Yes...not the most stable of brackets, unless one uses a monitor that weighs less than an iphone

Moderators Alec Jarnagin SOC Posted June 2, 2013 Moderators Report Share Posted June 2, 2013 While visiting Cris's shop, I took a look at the Cinetronics Monitor bracket. Very solid. Bargin price too. (I've been using an XCS one for years).

If anyone has been using it, i would like to get your thoughts.
