Premium Members Jarrett P. Morgan Posted August 30, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 30, 2013 I too am a hobbyist of that sort. Can you post a link to that converter? Also, of you're interested, I can get you a link to a smaller voltage regulator. Alan, Here is the HDSDI to HDMI converter that I used: http://www.ebay.com/itm/141000842587?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 and here is the voltage regulator (the bottom snaps off, so I put all the connections in the bottom, then snap it back together): http://www.ebay.com/itm/261219165636?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 EDIT: Alan, I just went back and re-read your post. I would love a link to a smaller voltage regulator. Thanks!

Honestly the "Crossbow" solution is pretty poor. No loop thru, huge size and an EXTERNAL power plug? One simple nice small box, that's what it should be and what it is with outer solutions. and honestly with Vitec buying Teradek, Paralinx either has to come out with something AMAZING or just realize that they've been beat
Premium Members Michael Maga Posted August 30, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 30, 2013 The crossbow is terrible. It looks like a bad afterthought... Because of the size and no loop through, I probably wouldn't buy it if it was $100.00.

I am pretty excited to see what Teredek does now with the backing of Vitec. The Bolt is an awesome starting point for wireless in the near future (at least in the sub-Boxx range)
Premium Members Dan Kanes Posted August 30, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 30, 2013 Hey, it's cool. People asked us to provide a solution that would take 5vdc to 30v DC, provide 2 pin lemo or p tap as an option, easy to roll your own power cables or replace them with cheap ones you already have. You can put SDI in, and the crossbow cascades power to the arrow. Yes, it is an "afterthought" because its an accessory for people who already own an Arrow. For a whole now people could use their decimator 2 or blackmagic or atomos converter with our transmitter or receiver, what we have done is an "easy solution" for the transmitter. We pride ourselves on customer service and support, and we are continually innovating. I don't waste my time crapping on what other people want to cobble together if you have time and patience for 14 cables coming out of a bundle that's taped up. Anyway, Eric, by your argument should Audi stop producing cars because Lexus might have a faster car? My belief is that without competition, there is only monopoly and never innovation. Life in a vacuum "sucks" as they say ;) Kind Regards, Dan

Life in a vacuum "sucks" as they say ;) Kind Regards, Dan I will say that, while I think the Crossbow has some flaws, I am really excited to see you (Paralinx) making stuff and coming up with new innovations for things. Competition is paramount, and all the companies coming out with new and excited things makes it a great time to be in this business. When I talk about a product, I am not trying to insult the person making it at all, just commenting on the product itself; plusses and minuses.

Premium Members Lawrence Karman Posted September 1, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted September 1, 2013 I do have to say that I am disappointed by the crossbow... I own a Paralinx arrow and was looking forward to something ingenious, but this is just bulky and impractical and I mean, COME ON! no SDI out?! Just a reminder: the $18,000 Boxx transmitter does not have HD SDI out.

I would love a link to a smaller voltage regulator. Thanks! To me it seems foolish to trust the vital link between camera and the director in a professional situation to cheap $3 voltage converters and cheese ball video converters. A taped up ball of cables, boxes and wires stuck on the camera makes you look like an amateur and in this business perception is everything. Worth the expenditure to buy professional gear, whatever it is.
