Long term stay in New York

I may be on a project for 4 months in NYC, stages near Chelsea Pier.

NYC is my production city so I'm putting myself up.

Does anyone have any advice on a good long term option for housing or how to find one?

3K a month is my budget.

Thanks

Ramon

So after looking at airbnb.com and vrbo.com and a multitude of other options I'm still not happy with what's available. Just tough to swallow 4k a month plus a months rent as a fee.

But those are the rules.

And I checked and Scores room was even more expensive and not worth it.............even with the amenities.

Ramon, $3K/month will get you plenty. I've lived in Brooklyn for years and watched it go from where people joked you need a passport to transcending Manhattan in hip value. Prices are still generally better here with the possible exception of the hippest parts of Williamsburg, which still mostly looks like an industrial waste land to me (I live in a sleepy little neighborhood called Kengsington - just south of Park Slope). Look at sub renting on Craig's list, etc. Indeed any kind of Corporate housing will be way overpriced. Look me up when you are here (and charge a lot of money - rates are substantially higher here than LA - to pay for that housing).

As soon as you tire of the smell of the garbage cooking on the 300 degree concrete that coats every surface in that city, feel free to pop up to Connecticut with the segment of population that believes a human should have more than 5 square feet to themselves and finds nothing endearing about having to step over a man asleep on the sidewalk wearing a parka in July.

Accurate but I still love this city, and that's why I live in Brooklyn :)

How often is a call or wrap time 9am or 5pm? Almost never happens. In fact, on average, my time from set to sitting on my couch has actually decreased since moving out of the city. Especially with all the shooting in the Westchester and Nyack area. And ain't no traffic like the traffic within the city itself.

To each their own Brother Grant! When I was young, I wanted to live in the country with a pickup truck and a dog - the nearest neighbor being out of gunshot range..... Now, it's next to impossible to get me to leave the city for under $3K a day. I still owe you a visit though (and look how long that's taken and you're one of my favorite people!). Madness, I say.

HA! You guys are really busting your asses! Here in LA, I can sit in traffic for hours to get to my apartment and THEN spend another 45 minutes looking for parking! Then, every few weeks, they stop construction on the streets in one part of town (without completing it) to start construction in another part of town!

I'm just gonna start renting Baldwin's place.

But I can buy a 128oz soda at a movie theater, so I have that going for me. I think I'll go buy a gun off someone without doing a federal background check...
