Kevin Stiller
About 2 weeks ago I bought a used flyer le. I was finally able to put it to the test today, only to find out that the monitor was acting very bizarre. As I was using the steadicam, the monitor gave out. The screen became gray and the words "no video signal" faded into the grey... I have tried changing batteries, turning it on and off, leaving it powered off for an hour... It's not giving me a signal or even menu options at all. The monitor is completely grey. What's frightening me even more is that I tried using the additional monitor that came with it, and after 5-10 minutes of using it, the same thing happened to THAT monitor. I can't comprehend what's going on. Im pretty distressed at this. Any answers are appreciated... I can post a picture if it will help Thanks, Kevin
Kevin Stiller
Could it be that the monitor isn't getting enough power from the batteries? This is the first time to test this model steadicam. I know that other models didn't show any symptoms like this at the least. Im charging my batteries now... Premium Members Tom Wills Posted June 27, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 27, 2013 Hey Kevin (do I remember you from the SOA workshop? I think I do!) That certainly sounds similar to the symptoms you'd get from dead batteries. What kind of batteries are you using, were they fresh off the charger, and if you have a multimeter and are able to test the voltage, what voltage were they putting out? Otherwise, it could be a wiring issue in the sled, but charging the batteries is a much easier first step than troubleshooting that!
Kevin Stiller
Hey Tom! I was at the workshop indeed. :D If I recall correctly, the models we used at the workshop never had any symptoms like this. Im using trimpac anton bauers. They haven't been charged very recently. Im charging them now in hopes of it solving my issue. My first thought was the monitor is defective, but I do have a tendency to jump to worst case scenarios Edited June 27, 2013 by Kevin Stiller
