Premium Members James Davis Posted July 12, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 12, 2013 Boxx might do it, if not gigawave can get some crazy range on their wireless links.

Premium Members Robert Starling SOC Posted July 12, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 12, 2013 I've done a 1/4 mile easy at Zuma Beach with the Boxx and the external antenna array. Depends on your budget mostly.
Premium Members Lawrence Karman Posted July 13, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 13, 2013 Microlite has really long range(Nebtek has them for rent) and Noodles ( (818) 406-7102 ) has one that will easily cover that range, but $$$. Both have delay. Don't think the Boxx or HP will be 1/2 mile reliant.
Moderators Louis Puli SOC Posted July 13, 2013 Moderators Report Share Posted July 13, 2013 Hi Richard Have a look at this test done in LA . On the receiver end they have a 20 x 20 5 way antenna which helps in the extended range .I don't know how hires the Boxx in LA . Good luck Louis Puli
Premium Members Richard W. Davis Posted July 13, 2013 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted July 13, 2013 Thank you all for the replies and assistance. We have rented the Microlite HD from Nebtek in LA. It promises the 1/2 mile range... Hopefully it will live up to its claim. I will report back on how the shoot goes on Monday. This BTW is not an inexpensive rental at $750 a day. Delay not a big deal as producers/ writers are going to be a long way off and Just need to see everything. For the record.. I own a BOXX (it is away on rental however ) and I just purchased a Teradek Bolt. I didn't feel either was the right tool for this job and had production get what I think is the right tool. Louis thanks for the video, I didn't think my BOXX would go that far, awesome... unfortunately that would still be to short for Monday's shoot. Doc and Alan thanks for the reminder as I had completely forgotten about Nebtek and Microlite in xmitter debates over the last year. I will report my findings on Monday. Thanks again, Rich Davis LA

Premium Members Sanjay Sami Posted July 29, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 29, 2013 I use the Transvideo Titan HD, and it performs really well. Havent tested how far, but the image is rock solid in any environment I have used it in.
Premium Members Richard W. Davis Posted July 30, 2013 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted July 30, 2013 Gaylen( and all interested), Microlite was solid for distances, terrain was a bit of a challenge as there were turns in our hills we were not expecting (production slightly changed location.) I was impressed with the ease of use on the Microlite, and the weight was very low. There is a small delay which when dealing over long distance was not an issue, but would potentially be a challenge in close set use. All in all, a good solution to my needs for the shoot ( long distance to village, traveling on grip trix ) Thanks everyone at Nebtek and Gaylen for all the assistance. Thanks Doc for bringing it to my attention!! great product! Best regards, Richard W. Davis, soc LA
