I am trying to locate a decent deal on the Steadicam Flyer, and am having trouble finding dealers tha carry it. The only one I see is B&H, but I have nobody else to compare their prices to. I would say the best place to get a deal on the flyer would be through tiffen. The prices are already pretty good for what you get. I'm not sure what support you would have through B&H, but i know that tiffen would take care of you pretty well. You could try looking for a used one if it was still to much. Hope that helps. Anyway contact Frank Rush at Tiffen. frush@tiffen.com he is the sales manager for Steadicam. I am not sure there will be much price comparison, directly from Tiffen I would assume will give you the best price. Places like B&H and Optex would have to mark up the price to make money off the sale, I would think...I have no idea though??? What kind of information do you want to know about the Flyer? Maybe I can help, I just got dome working the Tiffen booth at CineGear I am really up on all my facts right now. LOL. I gather they made some profit off the sale ;) . Hope this helps. The Flyer is well worth its money I think, when working with smaller cameras. According to the supplier this was due to the fact that the Flyer is a victim of its own popularity. Supply can't follow demand. I have heard that their service lately has not been up to their previously fine standards, and that they have been putting the "hard sell" on their customers. I've already sold one. ( close to taking delivery ). I'm still a working Operator; I was up at 5:00 am today for a 7:00 am call with my rig in hand. Aside from a busted HMI ballast that the supplier dropped and broke, it was a delightful day's work. :blink: I do not want to get into a range war with other dealers, nor am I interested in playing a numbers game on the Internet. So, no prices are advertised. Anyone who is serious about purchasing a Steadicam Flyer and a series of Flyer accessories is welcome to email me and we can discuss the business off-board. About 10 days ago I stood in the Tiffen Steadicam facility in Los Angeles, being given the tour by Frank Rush. They are making Flyers to beat the band. Like any product that takes off in a huge way, there's a production line curve. I can tell you they're making more than they have been, and will continue to up the output on a monthly basis.
