Premium Members RonBaldwin Posted July 22, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 22, 2013 Does anyone know if the ki pro mini has this feature/ability? I know several here use them on their sleds Thanks Ron
Premium Members Jarrett P. Morgan Posted July 22, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 22, 2013 According to the manual, there is a LANC port. That should be able to provide the functionality you are looking for.
Premium Members Eric Fletcher S.O.C. Posted July 22, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 22, 2013 It should pickup the HD-SDI run signal and trigger
Premium Members Alan Rencher Posted July 22, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 22, 2013 It depends on the camera. You can set the camera and Ki-Pro to run/stop from an SDI trigger, or from incoming timecode (which won't work if you're on freerun). They're kind of a pain in the ass to set up, but it's not hard to find instructions either in the manual, or posted online somewhere. Premium Members RonBaldwin Posted July 22, 2013 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted July 22, 2013 Thanks...was just curious about this as the perfect place for it would be behind the monitor (not the most convenient place to reach before/after a take)
Premium Members Victor Lazaro Posted July 22, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 22, 2013 Have you tried contacting AJA about this, I'm sure theyll be thrilled to answer you with more precision also ask which camera works with the rec trigger, they dont all use the same standard. I use the HyperDeck shuttle (much cheaper than the KI Pro) and it is triggered by red cameras, but not the Canon. [edit] from the website Automatic Camera ControlUsing the Camera Data menu parameter, record start/stop operation can be trigged automatically with select cameras - including unique HDMI support for Sony, Canon (HDMI timecode) and Nikon (DSLR support). Even file names can be reproduced on the Ki Pro Mini to match the camera native recordings. Automated start/stop can also be accomplished via LANC when connected to properly equipped cameras.
