Flares. I had big problems in combination with Red Epic camera. Bright backgrounds show up on dark colored objects as a reflection (bouncing off the sensor or lens elements? We never could figure that out). Also had flare or reflection issues with fluorescent lights just above the frame. I love the weight and size of these lenses, but I would not choose to use them again if it were up to me. Also the engravings on the dumb side did not match the markings on the other side of some lenses. Astounding considering what they cost.

Hey Jens,

Just finished a pilot with them last week working as the steadicam assistant, beautiful lenses, very steadicam friendly all similar sizes and weights. My only note, If you are using the Hand Unit-3 make sure you have then newer version 2.1 software it is optimized for the Leicas. Also they claim that they have identical focus throws and if you calibrate, one lens it is good for all of them. While the focus throw is very similar, I didn't find it to be identical. I had to calibrate each lens individually as you would with any other set of primes.
