Just built my first Epic/Scarlet start/stop cable for Bartech

What's the power option you have Alan? This version just routes from the 2pin power out of the Bartech. Do you have an additional cable port on yours?

Yours is smaller, this one measures approximately 2"x1.25"x0.5" - It does have a bnc option, I assummed it's there to send timecode though the sync cable, but I've never tested that and don't have any time code generating devices to give it a try. Maybe Chris can chime in, it wasn't sepcified when I ordered?

Perhaps it's just an option to hook up Run/Stop through the Red breakout cable.

I have an egg.0b.302 jack built into the enclosure that is made to accept your existing Bartech power cable, it then has an fgg.0b.302 plug that passes power through to the Bartech receiver. This helps with the digital version that does not have power pass-through.

I have an update on this: I'm currently having custom circuit boards made for this cable. It shouldn't be too long now before I can have some available for the people who requested them.

I have a quick poll for anyone interested in this cable:

Would you rather have the 00 Lemo terminated end attached to the box like in the picture, or a BNC jack on the box with an optional BNC to 00 Lemo cable?

Thanks!

Yea I did like it all-in-one when I played with your prototype Alan. I was worried at first that it wouldn't reach from the Bartch hanger on the front of my DB3 nose box, but it reached to the back of the Epic with some slack to spare. The package I tested it on was a fairly short setup though. The Epic packages I shoot with often have a Cabrio zoom or an even heavier lens like a Master Prime, so the camera would have to be rigged back further. Also the mattebox was empty here. My only suggestion would be a bit more length on that 00 Lemo cable.

It's an otherwise great little piece of engineering in a simple, small package!

Okay, so I'm getting closer to having these available. I've actually partnered up with PLC Electronics! They'll be supplying me with the same great boards that they use in their Epic run cable, and in return, I'll be assembling my design for them to sell in place of their current design. It's a win-win for everybody!

I have also decided to make two options: the original design, "All-in-One," and a version with a BNC jack for use with semi-permanent breakout boxes.

For those interested in purchasing, I have an order form online. The lead-time as of now is two weeks (waiting on parts to be delivered).
