Scott Donnelly
Dear All, Today I have used the Merlin 2 for the first time after reaching a balance which I am happy with. Using a Canon 5DMkII + 14mm 2.8 L lens. Would appreciate any comments/feedback on the video below. I think my technique (light touch on the gimbal) needs practice. https://vimeo.com/80659592 Many Thanks Scott

No virtual horizon. To be honest I couldnt even see the LCD due to the brightness of the mid-day sun.
Premium Members Chris Poynton Posted December 2, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 2, 2013 Run a test with a real object of focus, preferably an actor. You will then be able to critique your own accuracy of framing. I sensed with the car shot you were more thinking about your feet rather than feeling through the lens as to what geometric shapes were moving through your frame. You need to get to a point where you can rotate around an actor and gently push the audience's attention around inside the "rule of thirds", on a slight telephoto.
