Premium Members Osvaldo Silvera SOC Posted December 27, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 27, 2013 Hi folks, today I was doing a test with a friend sled and he has a Hummingbird monitor. I noticed the lamination in the screen is starting to come un done and from the area where the 4pin xlr connects on the side of the unit, there is a type of clear goo oozing from the monitor, super sticky. Anyone ever experience this?
Premium Members JamieSilverstein Posted December 31, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 31, 2013 The monitor is de-laminating. I have a Hummingbird Blackbird.. I love the monitor, BUT, it is de-laminating as well. According to David Hable there is virtually nothing to be done about the situation, which is a shame because it is the best SD LCD monitor that I have ever owned, and the one I use primarily because I like the XCS PDL which I cannot use with my Cinetronic 1 monitor. So clean up the "goo" and use the monitor until it dies.......
Premium Members chris bangma Posted December 31, 2013 Premium Members Report Share Posted December 31, 2013 We can replace the LCD screen on the hummingbird monitors.

Premium Members Jens Piotrowski SOC Posted January 1, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted January 1, 2014 Yes, I've used the PDL with my gen 1, No problem. Just make sure the level brightness is set to mid or low.
Premium Members JamieSilverstein Posted January 2, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted January 2, 2014 You're right. I stand corrected regarding the PDL. Chris at this moment I know 4 people with delaminating screens. Would the cost be reasonable? I know, I know, define reasonable.
Premium Members chris bangma Posted January 2, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted January 2, 2014 To replace the screen it would be $850. The specs are as follows: Standard Def 6.5" screen. Optically bonded with Anti reflective coated glass Led backlight upgrade 1500 nits brightness.
