Premium Members William Demeritt Posted January 23, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted January 23, 2014 This should be a working solution for everybody that has the issue and does not want to down-convert to SD NTSC/Pal. Decimator 2 scaling from SDI to HDMI also fixes PsF and gives HD.

Premium Members Thomas English Posted January 24, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted January 24, 2014 So decimator 2 on the back of the Cinetronic and HDMI into the Cinetronic?
Premium Members Tammy Jones Posted January 24, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted January 24, 2014 An earlier post stated that there was a new firmware update... What was this to fix? And when I checked for the update on the cinetronic site it said it was "on hold". Does anyone know why or till when? Chris, if you are reading: Is there a distribution list that I can be on to inform of new firmware updates? And a link to the site (It always take a while to find it... esp. when its not on my computer and therefore not bookmarked) thanks!
Premium Members Jens Piotrowski SOC Posted January 24, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted January 24, 2014 the new firmware had apparently a bug related to booting and was put on hold, it was not going to fix the PSF issue, to my knowledge
Premium Members William Demeritt Posted January 24, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted January 24, 2014 So decimator 2 on the back of the Cinetronic and HDMI into the Cinetronic? That's what I've done. PTAP from the Anton Bauer battery plate on the Cinetronic Gen 2 into the Decimator 2. SDI into Decimator 2 and HDMI into the monitor. Premium Members Shawn Wang Posted January 24, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted January 24, 2014 (edited) the cheapest SDI to HDMI solution that I know is ATOMOS S2H converter. with standard small Sony battery it can hold up to 10 hours (and it has a internal battery that holds 1 hour) and of course it converts PSF to P. Premium Members Mike McGowan SOC Posted January 25, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted January 25, 2014 Sorry to be a big dummy. Is this issue related to the gen2 monitor or the gen1? I've had my gen2 for 2 months, I've used it on 3 different types of Alexa, a few Epics and a Black Magic Pocket camera (which is HDMI out). I havn't had any issues of any kind? In terms of customer service, (while I admit I don't read the forums every day) I've had nothing but positive customer service experiences. In fact, I was getting ready to sell my 2 trusty Boland monitors and buy a second Cinetronic as a backup. The only negative mark I can give is that it has taken a bit longer than originally promised to get my level sensor but I was happy to write that off on a new product and a new company. What's the deal?
Premium Members chris bangma Posted January 25, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted January 25, 2014 PsF will be resolved, after some further level work. It will just take some time and money.
Premium Members Osvaldo Silvera SOC Posted January 25, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted January 25, 2014 Thanks Chris. I love my gen 1, I bought is used but it has worked great on every job I've used it on. From Super bright, to light miami rain ( that's Monsoon to most of the country) to last week on a sound stage. Super sharp, Super bright. Looking forward to the gen 2 sometime soon.
Premium Members Victor Lazaro Posted January 25, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted January 25, 2014 the cheapest SDI to HDMI solution that I know is ATOMOS S2H converter. with standard small Sony battery it can hold up to 10 hours (and it has a internal battery that holds 1 hour) and of course it converts PSF to P. Well, the cheapest I have found and own is this one: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/997050-REG/kanexpro_ext_sdi3gx_3g_hd_sdi_sdi_to_hdmi.html And it is powered by 5v. So I basically just need a USB to barrel and I had a USB to ptap for the Paralinx. So far it took every signals.

With the Alexa your doing the correct thing and changing the PSF setting on camera output.

Andrew Stone
... I basically just need a USB to barrel and I had a USB to ptap for the Paralinx. So far it took every signals. The Paralinx P-Tap to USB power converter cable appears to be well made. I picked up one a few weeks ago but I see now the product page takes you to a contact us page. There was a sale on them this past month so it looks as if they are presently out of stock.
