Thanks Dave Thompson, SOC <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I used to but I threw them away. I never want to do biz with that idiot again. Save yourself get rid of your modulus. You realize that he is proud of the fact that there are 30+ modulus on his bench at any given time, If there are 30+ Modulus on his bench at any given time don't you think that's indictive of a MAJOR problem. Premium Members Simon Jayes Posted July 23, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 23, 2005 I got so pissed waiting for a modulus repair that I bought a Canatrans - great unit and very, VERY good service. If you still want to leave a message for Peter (he never actually picks up the phone) here's his number (207) 284-5925. Good Luck.
Mitch Gross
I know there's been a lot of negative coments about the Modulus lately, but I just wanted to note that I'm soon to hit my 10th anniversary with my 3000, blasting 16v (top off at 18.2v) Aaton batteries through it all the while with never a failure. Premium Members Simon Jayes Posted July 24, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 24, 2005 Following Mitch's post, I have to point out that I have always been extremely happy with the Modulus 2000 and 3000 as a product. It is the customer service when a problem arises that I find less than adequate.
Premium Members Ari Gertler Posted July 24, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 24, 2005 I can't say anything about the service. Four years ago I was in a Rickshaw making a turn when the wheel gave way. Needles to say, as the chair fell on its right side, my rig with an Arri sr3 whipped from my extreme left with great force and speed onto the pavement below. The modulus 3000 was the first piece hit the ground. The lens flew in one direction while the mag popped off and had a tumble. I was a little shaken up and when I took my first look at the Modulus, the cooling coils on the side had bent over, but it has continued to work to this day with no need of repair or modification. The lens though was trashed and the Mag held together and we go the shot. Ari Gertler
