Are there any policies i can buy in europe for the whole of europe that compete? i dont like/fear the insurance business and am finding it a difficult thing to research. i worry that theres something i need in my policy that i don t have or im being fleeced for something that s blatantly not my responsibility. thanx
Premium Members Stephen Murphy Posted February 7, 2004 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 7, 2004 Thomas, I have a policy from Allan, Chapman and James in the UK: they deal with a lot of movie production and are well versed in Equipment policies. The policy i have covers me for all of Europe. Give them a call and im sure they can sort you out. Rich Steel
I'm with the same insurance broker. Can't fault them in any way. Had to make a claim last year, the only downside was I had to pay all the VAT up front for the repair which was a pain but I think that's common throughout the insurance business. You can save some money if you only work in the UK. I've got worldwide cover, it's not much more extra and if you can increase your exess then you save all the more. Premium Members benedictspence Posted February 16, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 16, 2005 Hello all, Long time reader, first time poster. I am just about to buy my first grown-up rig- a nice shiny new MK-V from Howard (after having *ahem* operated my *ahem* glidecam for 4 years). I was wondering if anyone could recommend a nice insurance company who could help me out; I used to use Endsleigh, but they won't cover anything over 10k. Also (and I know this is off topic) but I'm selling my nice ring light on ebay ringlight if any of you are interested! Speak to you all soon! Premium Members benedictspence Posted February 16, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted February 16, 2005 Just did my friend; howard put me onto them too. Seem friendly and reasonable; hopefully I won't have to be speaking to them too much though... Just to pick anyones brains; I'm thinking about taking out this Health Select camerman insurance. Does anyone else have this?? Costs £30 pm and if I break my leg (as long as I'm not drunk) they pay out £2000 per month for upto 12 months. Though it'd be worth it so I can keep up repayments if I'm out of action for a while. Anyone had any experience of this sort of cover???
