We've seen a number of reports, of product demonstrations and a number of posts by members about the capabilities of the Alien Revolution by MkV, this being billed as the biggest step in steadicam development since the gymbal!

Here's an open invitation to the new owners out there to post to the forum to discuss their new purchase. If you know anyone who has taken delivery please encourage them to post and perhaps upload some video. I'm sure the result will be very informing.

After a pretty thorough scanning of the current places Steadicam ops advertise, I cannot find anyone trumpeting their new and unique capabilities.

Gee I advertised it when I got a new focus system, or when I upgraded from a model II, Here's a chance to let us all know!

Why don't we hear from these folks? I for one have a lot of questions about this new technology and would love to have the opportunity to ask people with more than a days experience. Especially people who have actually used the device in production on a day to day basis.

Chill out TJ. Howard has said before, on this forum, that the first production run of the AR module wouldnt be delivered for another while yet. Im positive as soon as the first guys take delivery and play with it for a while they'll let everyone know.

Relax, there's nothing to worry about; they come in peace:)

Hey Eric,

Do you have your AR already? I assume that none of the "pioneers" have recieved theirs as of yet since I paid for mine, in full, just a couple days after the showing in LA a couple months ago and I'm still waiting for mine. Not to sound hostle but I just wonder what you mean by "when we want to talk about it we (The Owners) will"? I would love to talk about it once I have it. Wouldn't you?

All the Best,

Chad Persons

Messr Fletcher, being interested in new developments in steadicam technology and wanting to hear first thing when the new owners obtain this new piece of gear is hardly negative. I have asked questions about rigidity, (as it effects longer lenses) weight, robustness in regular use, quickness of rotation, of the camera and monitor, quickness to put on and take off the basic sled, availability for mounting on other sleds beside MkV, is there any noise from the motors, How accurate can the mid point be controlled

by the operator for longer moves at the mid point, etc. These it seems to me are sensible questions about the range of use of a completely new device. Everything that isn't praise, is not negative. I would expect discussions of this type to be useful to potential customers, and helpful to Howard as he continues to develop this new idea.

ps Stephen obviously I didn't see Howards post about when the AR would be delivered.

and mistook sold for delivered to the customers.

Looking forward to hearing the reports of Eric, Chad, Jeff etc when they receive their new toys, and have an opportunity to work with this system. Which was after all the purpose of my post to encourage this discussion of the details of working with this system and it's operation in day to day use.
