Premium Members Iain Baird Posted April 15, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted April 15, 2014 I've designed a mounting bracket for my MDR3 with Taku at WK's shop in Toronto. It can be mounted either on the top or bottom and each circle of holes is designed to hold either a V-mount shoe or any bracket of your choice with a 1/4 20 thread. The V mount shoe can be orientated 4 ways in each of 5 possible spots, allowing for 20 different positions to mount the MDR3 in. I have no idea of a cost, the prototype will be tested this week but if anyone is interested let me know and I'll discuss prices with Taku later. The V mount shoes that I'm using are from the back of discarded SWIT batteries - they are plastic and I find them very snug. I have about 5 of them, if I'm unable to find the amount needed I'll have to change the hole spacing to a more readily available shoe like the ones from Element Technica. At any rate if you're interested let me know and I'll look into pricing. IB

Premium Members Iain Baird Posted May 21, 2014 Author Premium Members Report Share Posted May 21, 2014 Here's the finished bracket, unfortunately my MDR3 has gone ahead of me to location so I won't be able to post photo's of the two pieces together for at least a week. The V-Mount shoe can rotate 4 different ways in each location and the Bracket can mount with the L on the top or the bottom of the MDR3 Here's the bracket with a 15mm mounting option attached. The 15mm piece can positively mount using a locating pin 4 ways in each location as well. I'm not sure about pricing, my only interest was building one that worked for me. If anyone is interested please contact Taku or Jen at Walter Klassen Designs. IB I'll post some more pics next week.
