Premium Members JensSchroeder Posted June 5, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 5, 2014 What an asshole? Who was that player? Maybe one has the chance to hit back.
Elliot Gabor
All that guy knows how to do is slide tackle things...hes a barbarian that was just trying to humeliate the operator for his own ego. That being said, people aren't educated enough about steadicam. to the average person, it looks like steadicams are lightweight toys because good operators make it looks so easy. If he knew how dangerous it could be or how easily an injury could ruin that guys career he might have thought twice about it. Premium Members Michael Hauer Posted June 15, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 15, 2014 I've been watching the cup and these operators are beasts! 80% humidity, 90 degrees, and pouring rain and they wear the rig the whole match. I've been trying to spot them in the rest position and no dice. Respect!
Premium Members Peter Abraham Posted June 16, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 16, 2014 Not only respect for the endurance- but lovely Operating and sideline positioning. I've only seen bits and pieces but I've seen the Steadicam Operator purposely position himself/herself so that if there's a referee call, they've got an over the shoulder of the ref with the field of play in the background. That's playing head's-up camerawork. Nicely done.
