Premium Members matthew pearce Posted May 15, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 15, 2014 was chatting to an op today who remembered his old Gyros having a 20 minute run time on hytrons before they ran out of power and started to slow down. Any current users getting longer run times with HC batteries? thank you
Premium Members JamieSilverstein Posted May 15, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 15, 2014 I never measured the time but it was a lot better than 20 minutes. Additionally, in the rare event that I use my Gyros, I always have a block next to my stand that my assistant plugs the gyros into to keep them 'warm' while the sled cools down. Premium Members Thomas English Posted May 15, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 15, 2014 I don't even keep them that warm. I just turn them on as long as possible before a take and turn them off straight after. I find if they are spinning a little anyway they get up to a useful speed in a minute or so.
