Premium Members Tom Wills Posted May 27, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 27, 2014 No, the "P" series motors are analog and use a potentiometer to read out position data. The "E" series uses an encoder, and is digital. All Preston systems (save for the Micro Servo, a long long discontinued product) use digital motors. Premium Members Peter Hoare Posted May 28, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted May 28, 2014 The basic rule is, if it has a Lemo 1B 7 pin on the motor, it will probably work. This rule must be ignored in the case of the Tilta motors, as they have copied the industry standard connector, but have their own pinouts and control systems so the motors won't work with normal digital controls, although they do look like they should. It's also not true in the case of the Heden M26PT or M28VPT combo analog zoom/focus motors which use the same Lemo 1B 7 pin connector but have both analog potentiometer and tachometer so they can be used as zoom or focus motor.
