Moderators Louis Puli SOC Posted June 1, 2014 Moderators Report Share Posted June 1, 2014 For all you Boxx AV Transmitter owners (early model with out plates AB/V-Loc). I have put some V-loc plates on one of my AV transmitter units . Yes you can run 24v (6.5-32v) through your normal Meridian Transmitter but I don't know if you can with their older unit .Can you power the older unit with 24v ? I don't want to blow it up and send it on a holiday to England. Thanks Louis Puli
Premium Members Thomas English Posted June 1, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 1, 2014 There isn't a question mark anywhere in your paragraph there Louis so not sure... Certainly you can't put a 24v hawkwood onto a 12v V lock. There is a safety to prevent that. I think its fair to say you should ask the boys at Boxx in the morning with your serial number. I've got a Boxx system and didn't even realise I could pass 24v through it. Let me know! I love the Boxx system xThomas
Moderators Louis Puli SOC Posted June 1, 2014 Author Moderators Report Share Posted June 1, 2014 Hi Thomas I have been now told you can't put 24v through the AV transmitter .With the latest Meridian Transmitters (only not the receiver) you can power it with 24v . Thanks I to love my Boxx systems.
Premium Members Thomas English Posted June 2, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 2, 2014 There are Boxx units in London that are 24v. Hired from Take 2 a big UK and South African rental firm but I thought they were custom. So the newer ones can take 24v and older ones not? Premium Members Lars Erik Posted June 6, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 6, 2014 Are you guys talking about true 24v batteries, or 12v batteries run parallel thus creating 24v?
