I realise that the spec in the BFD manual as 3A max but wondered if there is a safety margin in that. I'm using FMG 6 motors. The current at that point momentarily goes far above 1.8A and will blow the fuse. The fuse will reset once you cycle power. I also recieved an email from Jim which he said I could share: "It is safe. The BFD only draws 3 amps under worst case conditions (very rare). Your FMG-6 motors won't draw over 1.5 amps. Also, amperage ratings on connectors are based on how much current they can be carrying safely when plugged or unplugged, not how much they can carry continuously. I can't think of any instance when you would unplug this cable while drawing 3 amps." I'm going to try the Hirose and if it throws the trip, I'll revert to D-Tap. Thanks.
