Matt Mouraud
What do guys think of Baer-Bel ? I'm talking to Markus Bernhardt, very nice guy but a little bit elusive when it comes to getting a quote. Anyhow it seems his rigs are rock solid, and the arm seems beautifully designed. Anybody using one of his rig ?
Guest sebastian matthias
Hey Mr.Magnum ! What´s Your real name ? BAERBEL: THE BEST !!!!!!! Baerbel is probably one of the coolest and reliable persons in this business i ever got to know. he is a real freak and builds you just anything you need from srcatch. He´s a master of engenering and just knows a 100% what he´s doing.Beside from that his service is excellent. If you crash with your rig and need a replacement he guaranties to deliver it anywhere in germany (or was it even europe?) within one day! what other supplier would do that ? you can call him any time if you have problems with your gear,or even if your girlfriend left you. (No, don´t start calling baerbel because your girlfriend left you.He will never talk to me again  ) I myself am a proud baerbel-owner.I still have one of his older models (SN:0020 !) wich still looks a bit bulky, but i love it and keep upgrading it.If i had the money i would buy a new baerbel-rig with build in frameliner and electronic bubble. You should definitely have a look at that one. Awsome !!!!!!! He also has another new model (without frameliner/e-bubble) . everytime i come in his shop he shows me something new that he just invented.he is just the INVENTER ! Just think of gimmicks as the cat-griller,or his sushi-server (low-mode cage).great stuff ! And his arm : I LOVE IT ! When i bought it i didn´t have the money to get a pro-arm (20.000$) and got one of his first new arms.it turned out to be a very good choice.(it´s made for heavy duty and takes up loads up to 37 kg !Just came near to it´s limit when i had to fly a BL4s) His vest is , to be honest, not the very best vest on earth. But it´s allright for most purposes. I know this sounds like a Bearbel-Commercial, but so what! That His stuff is good quality! Here´s some barbel history : The rig "Russian Arc" was done with was a special build Baerbel and baerbel also constructed a fully working tampon-suspender!!!!!!!! for his female clients. Don´t know what .happened to that thing.Probably not enough female customers around. that was it ! cheers sebastian
Brett Manyluk
Bought the arm. I've had 2 years. Love it. in all kinds of weather from +43 celcius to -50 celcius it's a knock out. Springs change in about a minute, and it is very smooth and super strong. In my humble opinion, you will be very pleased with the results. Good luck Brett Manyluk

I have absolutely no clue as to what this would be other than I highly doubt it is at all Steadicam-related, but boy do you have me curious! Matt Mouraud
Well he certainly is inventive ! Well I just got a quote from him and it's just out of my budget for now so I'll just keep it in the bac k of my head for next year or so and in the meantime I might go for a sprint complete rig... I'm meeting with the guy at the IBC. But thanks for your opinion, Seb' ! :D
Premium Members Thomas English Posted August 19, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 19, 2005 Joe mcNally sells his kit in London, so I have had the oportunity to try his kit side by side with mine. The arm is brilliant, very smooth and light, Whilst not iso-elastic and fairly centre weighted. These attributes make it the best running arm in the bussiness by far! some of the running shots i pulled off with this arm up and down stairs and through fights still amaze me (brian tuffano s "kidulthood" soon to be released). slick/smooth arm with many bearings but not iso-elastic. It weighs nothing! The sled is like people say "rock solid" . you ll understand that when you play with it. It works very well. try it out for certain! Matt Mouraud
I'll see if I can find one sometime... He won't be at IBC and I don't know of any BaerBel rig in France but who knows... The market over here doesn't justify spending over 20,000?, unfortunately...
Premium Members Guido Lux Posted August 20, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 20, 2005 Hi everybody! I've had one of his sled for about 2 years! Wonderful! As said before "rocksolid"! Premium Members joe mcnally Posted August 20, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 20, 2005 Jump on the Eurostar to London and I can show the Baer Bel rig in action. Like all things the bottom line price is not the only story. Completely agree with Sebastians comments Try to try it out anyway even if for the future. Contact me anytime Joe

RobertPatzelt
Dear Mr. Magnum , i`m using a baer-bel rig since more then 3 years. And i didn`t get a lot of problems with it. Its right that Marcus is very helpfull and smart. And speacaliy related to the price it is a good choice. On other hand i know a bit more " preceice" systems know ( for example " the RIG") but it`s 50% more expensive then the " baer-bel". If you want to know , fell free to contact me. Ciao Robert
Premium Members Ramon Engle Posted March 28, 2006 Premium Members Report Share Posted March 28, 2006 Hi all. I've been trying to reach Markus at Baer-Bel in Germany with no response to my emails.
