Premium Members Ramon Engle Posted June 13, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 13, 2014 does anyone have a work around for not being able to see an image on a Cinetronic 2 from the F55? Also, my Cinetronic 1 wont display an image above 30 fps from the F55, nor will a tv logic. Got hosed on that issue trying to shoot 60 frames on a stunt. Changed the frame rate settings, once the settings were in effect I was blind. Couldn't change the settings with out a Sony viewfinder(we had the more robust PV version) and or Sony onboard monitor(my first was using the TVLogic). Premium Members Jens Piotrowski SOC Posted June 13, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 13, 2014 Use an HD to HD crossconverter.

Premium Members Lawrence Karman Posted June 13, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 13, 2014 I suppose one could convert to SD using a Decimator and get a picture. Can't believe there is no setting on that camera to output 1080p.
Premium Members Jens Piotrowski SOC Posted June 13, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 13, 2014 That btw is one of the reasons why Greg's Hd-PDL took so long. It covers over 70 different signal formats. Also his Tb7 monitor will be able to display all those formats...
Premium Members Charles Papert Posted June 13, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 13, 2014 If you have a Decimator 2, you can convert the PSF signal to the HDMI output via the Decimator control panel software (currently only on PC platform), it will still be HD.
Premium Members Aaron King Posted June 14, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 14, 2014 I attempted to do the firmware update with my Decimator 2 today, but wasn't successful. What exactly is it that I need to do to update it properly to convert the PsF through the HDMI output to the HDMI input? I just received my Gen2 and immediately left to do a job for a few weeks that unfortunately is shooting on F55. I really want to use my new monitor on this job if I can, considering I feel I paid good money for it. I have the weekend to figure this out if I can. What about the cross convertors? Is there anything special you need to setup on those, or do they convert the signal right out of the box?
Premium Members William Demeritt Posted June 14, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 14, 2014 You need to enable HDMI scaling on the Decimator 2 in order to use it for this purpose. You need a Windows computer and the Decimator control panel software available on their website. Once installed and your Decimator 2 is connected, you enable scaling in those menus. Once scaling is enabled, any HDSDI feed will be scaled to HDMI per your settings on the scaling menu, and output to the HDMI port on the Decimator. Premium Members Jens Piotrowski SOC Posted June 14, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 14, 2014 Downconverting might be simpler. What is the latest from Chris on the PsF issue?

Premium Members Charles Papert Posted June 14, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 14, 2014 Decimator Designs is working on a Mac compatible version of their control panel software, hopefully it emerges soon.
Premium Members Jens Piotrowski SOC Posted June 14, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 14, 2014 there is a new down-converter option available from AJA as well https://www.aja.com/en/products/mini-converters/v2analog
Premium Members Aaron King Posted June 14, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted June 14, 2014 When doing the firmware update on the Decimator 2, there are two options for either 32 or 64 Bit. Does it matter which one you choose? Once you make the choice and have the Decimator plugged into the PC, will it update the Downconvertor or do I need to perform a click and drag? I know these might be remedial questions for some, but I'm not always the best with computers. Sorry.
