One of the toughest questions that I have is what is the general market place environment at the present time. Very tough to answer b/c it is an individual viewpoint in relation to how much work one gets. A good L.A. guy is going to work more than a new op from D.C. I live in D.C. at the moment and split time in S. Florida, or can split time in Fl. Most of my old freelance contacts are gone since I moved to D.C. A.P. and reuters don't use a lot of Steadicam. I used to shoot as a Beta Cam owner/op in S. Florida and did well...now...I'm not so sure how many calls a fairly new Steadicam Op should expect in this post recession environment.
