Dax Blinn
Does anyone know of a bidirectional fine adjustment plate for the head of a steadicam? The one I ordered and am using does not have one for fine tuning. It does have the capacity to adjust forward and back and side to side, but it is very difficult to make small increments. Would using a macro focusing slider be any help?
Premium Members Victor Lazaro Posted July 1, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 1, 2014 Hi Dax. What model/brand of Steadicam do you have? It would be easier for us to help you with that info.
Dax Blinn
Hi Dax. What model/brand of Steadicam do you have? It would be easier for us to help you with that info. Its a S60. I recently got it cheap off of ebay as a way to start into the steadicam world.

Premium Members RonBaldwin Posted July 2, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 2, 2014 Me thinks what you are looking for will cost many times more than your "sled"
Dax Blinn
Me thinks what you are looking for will cost many times more than your "sled" Haha I'm sure most things will be. Would a macro focusing slider work instead?
Premium Members Alan Rencher Posted July 2, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 2, 2014 This is what I use for fine adjustments.
Premium Members Osvaldo Silvera SOC Posted July 12, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 12, 2014 If you scour the forum and internet as a whole, you should be able to find an old Model 3A Top stage and then figure out a way to bolt it on your post Instead of what you have there as the top stage now. The adjustability would be day and night over what that sled has there, that may run like $800 and the used camera plates with the gear strips underneath to mesh with the 3A top stage about $100 each. Good luck, PS, it would probably be the most adjustable one of those Glidecam clones out there. Add some AB plates underneath and you can fly an Stripped down Epic! Premium Members Carl Wiedemann Posted July 23, 2014 Premium Members Report Share Posted July 23, 2014 Two of these, joined at ninety degrees, could also work for fine adjustments... with smaller cameras. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/554343-REG/Manfrotto_454_454_Micrometric_Positioning_Sliding.html
