Matt Burton
I shot this music video a couple of days after getting my first steadicam (flyer). My skills have come on so much from then i can hardly belive it. The video was kinda rushed out as a means to an end, but on no budget and little time to prepare the shoot, i think it came out ok. Kind of a one man show, with me shooting and editing the final peace. I'd never take on anything like that again, but was a real good test for my first shoot. Heres a link the >Video< Cheers -Matt Planet-mu records
Premium Members Afton Grant Posted August 23, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 23, 2005 As a supporting note, the Flyer was easily one of the most popular rigs at the workshop I just attended. I think it was recognized that, despite its size, it certainly has a place in the industry.
Premium Members Tom Wills Posted August 23, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 23, 2005 I'd say that was quite good. Some of the best work I've seen come out of an op with a new rig. I can't tell weather it's skill, or if it's the rig, but I most certainly commend both. The song's pretty good too. :P
Premium Members Jason Williams Posted August 23, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 23, 2005 Hey Matt, Some great work there, you've come on massively since the workshop - it really helps having your own rig to play with! Oooh yeah while I'm here just wanna remind you DV TAPES! ;) Cheers bud, fly safe Jase

Matt Burton
Matt, How did you get the bullet time style shot, it looked great. John. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Howdy guys, thanks for the kind words. Cheers John, the bullet time stuff was all done via TWIXTOR and getting the guys to freeze while i tracked round them (was a realy tight squeeze in that subway). Twixtor is an amazing tool and i belive they used it on the matrix in some form. "Twixtor enables you to speed up, slow down or frame rate convert your image sequences with visually stunning results. In order to achieve its unparalleled image quality" Oh shiza sorry jay I've been so busy at the mo i dont know if i'm coming or going. Do you wana come with me to mk-v sometime ? i can give you the tapes then. Cheers-Matt
John Steele
Cool, I've used twixtor before but never managed to get it that good, man those guys must have stayed really still when you moved around them, I did think that was how you did it but there was just no movement at all. Again, it looked great, I need to go and try it now :) John. Matt, How did you get the bullet time style shot, it looked great. John. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Howdy guys, thanks for the kind words. I used a Canon Xl2 with Canon wide angle and it held up pretty well for dv. Wish i had the budget to shoot on hdcam but the record label is a small indie in uk. I pretty much did it for free and to get some experiance. Dam it i'm charging for the second video i do :D
