Premium Members Afton Grant Posted August 24, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 24, 2005 I got this question after reading the "High Speed Steadicam" topic in the Operating forum. The discussion was regarding the use of a 1000' 35mm mag and the maximum weight of the arm. Does anyone know what the gross maximum weight is for a Master Series arm? I know it advertises it'll support up to a 45lb camera, but what is the actual limit to everything in addition to the camera?
Premium Members Anders Holck Petersen Posted August 25, 2005 Premium Members Report Share Posted August 25, 2005 If I remember correctly, the Master Film Arm has an upper lift limit of 65lbs, all included.
Moderators Alec Jarnagin SOC Posted August 26, 2005 Moderators Report Share Posted August 26, 2005 I believe it is actually 67 pounds when tuned for heavy loads (the arm can be detuned to allow smaller payloads on the lower end, but it will shave a few pounds off the high end - these adjustments can me made by the owner via an Allen wrench and are not to be confused with the standard adjustment - red - knobs).
